We are considering doing a weekend trip to Asheville, NC to meet family. I was wondering if you guys might know if any must do's, must see's or must stay places.

Our trip will include 2 kiddos that are 11, so we don't need ideas for little little people.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks bunches!

Asheville is a really cool place! One of the more popular "touristy" things to do is the Biltmore Estate. There's a winery there that is pretty awesome. ;)

Something kind of cool and funky that I've been wanting to do the next time I'm up there is the Asheville Salt Cave. Also, the downtown area is a lot of fun to just walk around and take in the scenery. There are a lot of cool, eclectic shops, art galleries, and restaurants.

Thanks Kendall. We are definitely going to the Biltmore Estate. Trying to figure out where to stay and what to do on the other two days. Thank you for letting me know about Downtown and the salt cave. Much appreciated!

I also recommend the Biltmore Estate and there is some many beautiful gardens on the premises.

You are not too far (about 1 hour) from Cherokee NC (Great Smoky Mtns) that offer some fun shops; there is also an Indian show (not sure of the time) and if you go to Bryson City NC (about 1 hour outside of Cherokee) there is a wonderful train ride you can do.

Outside of Bryson City is a tubing creek (https://www.deepcreekcamping.com/tubing.html) that is tons of fun. We have done this multiple times and all love it. My kids were around 10/13 when we did it.
