totally scrapbook related ;)

Is there a color combo or even color that you just can NOT use?

For me, it's pastels. I have SUCH a hard time making them work. I'm just not a fluffy kinda gal :p

Agreed, pastels are hard for me too. I also really loathe a kit that has mostly yellow/orange/green  or one with "drab" colors - browns, yellows, olive green, oranges, blah! I like vibrant colors, jewel tone, or for neutrals I like black/white/grey or kraft with pops of color.

I struggle with monochromatic layouts. I love the look when other people do them but I try and ... ugh! I like to have contrast on my pages.

I struggle with monochromatic too. Kits with predominant orange is a no-no but the ones I can't stand are neons. o_0

I also don't really like too "earthy" color palettes like these:

Pastels could be great depending on their hues and saturation. For example, those I like very much:

But colors like those are blah

kits with beige or cream... I know that sounds odd, it's a neutral color. But I just don't like that color... especially when paired with bold colors - off white or a light gray, we are in business... not beige... :o However, if it's a good theme, it won't stop me... :D

I have a hard time with pastel kits, too. Too many papers that are primarily white or very pale colors makes it hard for me to use them. I like some contrast or some fun color to pop. I love brights. I love yellow and use it a lot when I make kits... you know, it's easy to get stuck in a rut and keep using your favorite colors whether you are a designer or scrapper! LOL I should purposely try to diversify a bit more. :p

Me too.

If a kit contains orange I will normally avoid it. Unless the kit itself is just too awesome to not own of course. But orange is a colour I avoid, even if I have a kit that has orange in it.

I don't have any specific colors that I don't like. I even like orange ;)

But I have a hard time using pastels, neons and muted colors. Also if a kit only have the basic colors I think it's quite boring.

I struggle with Pastels... and anything heavy with pink (I only have boys and unless I'm doing a BOM page there's only so much pink I can use).... I don't mind having touches of pink on my boy pages but I tend to pass over anything that is mostly pink no matter how cute it is.

I am a little sad a lot are saying neons..... those are my absolute FAV!! lol

I think Val was right, our poor designers are going to get a complex popping in to this thread.

It's funny because I agree with some of these in the abstract (the purple & green combo is not my favorite), and yet when it comes to kits, I own some beautiful ones that break my own rules.

This is very true - a kit is more than the sum of its colors ;) I will buy a kit with orange in it as long as it's not the predominant color and it's not paired with all green or brown or yellow - I have lots of kits with yellow, which as a color on its own I am not fond of at all, but I've done some pretty layouts with yellow and even a touch of orange.

Bright pastel colours (mostly the girly colours and/or too cutesy). Very similar to what Jenn posts above me.

This is so me! Not just in scrapping but in what I wear as well

I really dislike very drab earthy tones. And I dislike mustard yellow. And not a big pastel fan, I guess because I have 4 boys!
