OMG! Is Lori's baby going to be zombie? ACK! That would be killer crazy! Well... Shane DID turn into one, and it is probably his baby so... (which is my opinion, btw. I think it's his.)
 
I love this show!

Definitely watch Season 1 if you're new to the show - it's on Netflix!

I downloaded the first Graphic Novel app on my Nook Color, but I haven't really been able to get into the format. And there's 15 of them at 9.99 each so I don't really want to get that invested in them lol

I think that the virus must have gone airborne because they couldn't find any bites on Randall and obviously Shane wasn't bitten - there weren't any zombies around yet!

I can't wait for the season finale this week - when does season 3 start?? :)
 
Shane was exposed on the bus, though. (unless they're going to ignore their own filming lol). But it had to be airborne in the beginning (thus the doctor at the CDC whispering to Rick something) because it had to come from somewhere to start. So it'll be interesting to see what the immunity is if there is one.
 
Yes, he was exposed on the bus, but not bitten or scratched as far as we know right? He didn't have the fever and symptoms of changing before he was killed.

That's true about the CDC dr though - we never got a full answer about how it started... I can't wait to see how it plays out :D

I don't know... he acted increasingly violent and spontaneous to me. I'd say even psychotic there towards the end of his life. Perhaps, if he hadn't been killed, he could have turned into a zombie without even dying first?
 
Maybe! I like shows that have possibilities and make you think about the what ifs :)

If anyone needs to catch up on Season 2, they're doing an all day marathon on Sunday leading up to the finale!
 
Well, he was exposed by stabbing the walker with his knife, THEN cutting his hand open - it can't be done strictly by saliva since scratches are also creating walkers, so it's feasible he was exposed and had an immunity that was fighting - but once he died, he turned fast. Just a theory.

But my other theory - plague.

LOL I'm reading I Am Legend right now - written back in the 70's, it theorizes a plague spread by spores carried by the winds, and infected folks. Some are immune...and my brain went *ding* when I just read that passage of the character figuring it out!

I totally forgot about everything that happened at the CDC! lol, feels like I watched season 1 forever ago!! I'm going to have to go back and rewatch it all... I'll miss it waiting for season 3!!
 
I'm glad to see Shane go. His crazy "only I can protect the family" shtick was getting a little old. I read the first comic season so wasn't surprised by that, but have no idea what comes next. Maybe a feud with the other group that's out there PLUS an airborne plague for next season?
 
I honestly never thought I would be so in to a zombie show, but man, this thing has got me hooked. I can't wait for Sunday to see what they are going to do about all those walkers coming out of the woods.
 
Argh, I couldn't watch it past the point where the horse was devoured in Atlanta when it was original broadcast. I LOVE zombie books/stories but watching horror is another thing entirely! Hmm.

May have to start watching it again.
 
Yeah I don't watch horror either..and most of the time I have to look away when the zombies really get to eating someone. But it's not so bad and the story is totally worth a little gore.
 
My DH is perturbed because we haven't seen what was whispered, where Darryl's brother is, or the guy Rick was talking to on the walkies talkie. He wants all those answered in the finale. Did anyone else notice how much he breathed through his mouth...we thought he was already infected and would have turned whether he died or not.

Exactly. I always look away when people are eaten or when the zombies get their heads smooshed.

I agree. I'm getting annoyed by people around me IRL who roll their eyes when I mention the show. There was all kinds of nasty stuff on ER, but no one clucked their tongues at that. It's not a 'zombie show' IMO. It's a 'drama'.
 
yeah...but it's a bit more gorey than ER lol. Folks who haven't seen it do tend to assume it's all about the zombies, when they're really almost an afterthought :)

We’ve never had a main character become a zombie to this extent. Those [rapid flashes of zombie mayhem] represent the storm in Shane’s brain to some extent … Amy was a weaker character. Shane is in a murderous rage … he’s going to reanimate quicker. There’s just more life in that zombie, believe it or not. We do have internal rules for that.

Um, wow. That was intense. And I'm not sure if we are now going to see a new "Rictatorship", but I was glad that he finally told them all to either shut up or hit the road.

Yeah that first 20 minutes was intense..and it was cool how they showed why all the zombies were there.

I was glad to see Rick finally get fed up too. They all want him to lead but they want to whine and complain about it the whole time...well looks like he's done with that.

And I hate Lorie. She gets on my nerves so bad.

Was anyone else yelling at Herschel to get his a$$ in the truck? I like that old guy and didn't want to see him die. Poor Jimmy and Patricia. No one could shoot Patricia? Wouldn't it have been kinder than letting her be eaten alive? Anyone else think that Andrea is going to be looking to kick some serious butt at being left behind? And finally, the hooded woman. My son who reads the comic says one of the armless zombies was her boyfriend before he turned. That's cold.
 
We don't do zombie at our house, for the most part. At least the horrible horror versions. But we have seen Zombieland (hilarious) and Shaun of the Dead (even more hilarious). But that's as far as zombie stuff goes for me.

However, Russ has me listening to The Zombie Survival Guide right now and insists I read/listen to World War Z before it comes out in June (though I don't see me seeing it). We're not even 10 min into the book and already I'm arguing with every direction they've taken on Walking Dead about how these folks have survived - all that gore should already have them infected LOL (as if this stuff were real!)

It's the conundrum I have with Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - the book was awesome..the movie? I'm not sure I can handle the ick factor. I just wish they'd do Pride & Prejudice & Zombies - it's stalled. :(
 
I agree... now that we know it's viral & airborne, how is it possible they can come in contact with the zombies bodies (pushing them away physically), their blood & guts (spraying on their skin), and not turn? It doesn't exactly make sense. But then again, the idea of zombies is pretty much stretching reality to begin with. :p

Well they're already infected according to what Rick said...so they already have the virus..they don't turn though until they die. So I guess touching them and coming in contact with zombie blood and stuff doesn't really matter since they're already infected. At least that's how I understood it. So no matter how they die..like Rick killing Shane, they'll turn once they're dead.
