The Red Tent

I'm seriously thinking this tradition needs to be brought back.

Give me my red tent. Let me go off on my own and everyone leave me alone...deal with things in peace w/o worrying...and i'll come back a week later refreshed.

bahumbug.

Dude... did you start your ____ today??? ME TOO.

I woke up crying this morning straight out of a "nightmare" in which my family had.... killed me? NO. Abandoned me? NO. Got eaten by dinosaurs? NO.... hurt my feelings. I knew at that point that I was basically scr@wed for the day. And I was!!! I had such a short fuse with the kids :( and overall in an ornery mood. I was also craving chocolate ice cream in a BIG way. Which, by the way, I feel like crying about because I never got any!!!!

Yeah, the red tent would be totally awesome. We could sit around in 100% stretch clothing and eat cereal for breakfast (Cocoa Puffs), lunch (Great Grains with extra honey), and dinner (Honey Comb baaaaby!) without anyone annoying us. :D

I think cereal for dinner is the best meal ever. I think once the kids are gone that is going to be all. Eat for dinner.

Fabulous idea! I knew there had to be something good that could come from it - a week of peace by myself would make it all worth while!

I am clueless as to what you guys are talking about

I grabbed this from Wikipedia:

The Red Tent is a novel by Anita Diamant, published in 1997 by Wyatt Books for St. Martin's Press. It is a first-person narrative that tells the story of Dinah, daughter of Jacob and sister of Joseph. She is a minor character in the Bible, but the author has broadened her story.[1] The book's title refers to the tent in which women of Jacob's tribe must, according to the ancient law, take refuge while menstruating or giving birth, and in which they find mutual support and encouragement from their mothers, sisters and aunts.

I've been thinking on this, and what I've decided is that I would pass on a tent full of girls on their period. I think I would rather the boys go off to a blue tent and leave me at the house alone. : )

YES!

Or we could just get a duplex. Because at 44, I now have PMS about three weeks out of the month. *I* don't want to be around me.

Good idea! My DH and I actually do that! But we go to a meditate retreat and keep silence for a week. (seperataly!)

Good for your soul.

Yeah that part of being a girl pretty much sucks. I've always had an awful time, and my DD seems to be following in my footsteps, I feel so bad for her. I feel for DH too, I fear for him when he has to deal with all three of us o_O
