The official 'Outdoors' season...

It's officially the start of camping & fun outing season for our household. Memorial Weekend is when we usually start spending weekends in the woods or doing lots of fun outdoorsy type things.

We will be leaving tomorrow to head up into Oregon to visit my sister/BIL/nephew at their new home. They moved from our tiny little county, for the first time ever, a couple months ago. We will spend Saturday having my nephews birthday, I can't believe he's 7 already...time flies! Sunday we will head over to the Oregon Coast, which I really cannot wait for, it's been way, way, way too long since our last visit. Monday we will hang out & possibly visit the drive thru wildlife safari on our way home. I'm super excited to get the heck outta town, out of my house & away from "life" for a few days.

What are you plans for the long weekend? (Even if it's not a long weekend for you) :)

So jealous Amanda! Where is the wildlife safari? We are trying to plan a trip to Coos Bay in October. This is the first year in 10+ years that we AREN'T going camping and I am sooooo bummed!!! DH is working tomorrow and Sunday. We have baseball practice and a birthday party on Saturday. We'll bbq with our BFF's on Monday and then I get to report for jury duty on Tuesday. Fun, fun. I still wish we were going camping............ but we don't get to until JULY!!!! So not fair.

We actually don't get to leave until 5-6pm tomorrow after DH gets off work :( was hoping for only 1/2 a day. Oh well...

It's in Winston, we went last year on our way home from Newport, we just drove thru & didn't do any of the other touristy stuff, & the girls loved it, so it should be even better this time around (if we make it there. lol)

Our next for sure trip will be to Brookings for Father's Day weekend.
At least you'll get to BBQ this weekend--that's always fun, always more fun if the BBQ & camping are combined though. :) and big thumbs down to Jury duty.

That sounds like a great time!

My sister and niece are coming up tonight after work. Tomorrow we're going to a Renaissance Fair. Monday we plan on grilling out but that's about it. I'm looking forward to a long, relaxing weekend at home.

Our friends invited us to their parents beach house for the weekend. I. CAN'T. WAIT! I haven't been to the beach in FAR too long. The boys are gonna go out fishing and the ladies are gonna relax on the beach and soak up some sun. We're leaving later on tonight to miss the bulk of the traffic (we hope anyway), and not coming back til way late on monday most likely. I'm trying to decide if I want to bring the laptop and get some scrapping done or not.

Oh you're talking my neck of the woods now  (Oregon!) Went to Lincoln City last weekend, love it there. Also really like the Wildlife Safari in Bandon.

We really need to get outside more, and that is going to be our goal this summer.

Bandon is one of my favorite places to visit. There wildlife park is fun, espeically when there are babies. ;) Hopefully we'll get up there to camp this year, we haven't been in a couple.
Hopefully by this time Sunday we'll be sitting on the beach in Florence. :)

We're going out to my Dad's homestead on Sunday...hopefully for some berry picking and definitely BBQ'ng. We'll be at friends' tonight for a family get together, but otherwise, no big plans.

Have a ton of fun! We want to be a camping family....but once it starts gettnig hot, DH refuses LOL

We'll probably end up at the lake, like we do most every weekend! But we're having so much fun there. We just got a jet-ski up there and we've had so much fun riding it and tubing, etc.

We thought about taking the boat out to the island (I live in Panama City, and there's a little island, called Shell Island, just about 15 minutes away by boat), but I'm not sure it (the boat) is ready yet. Hubby was having the canvas and carpeting replaced on the top deck, so it's probably not ready for a bunch of people to be on it yet.

I'm sure we'll end up having lots of friends up to the lake for swimming, grilling out, and just taking it easy! And my hubby's actually taking Monday off (he owns his company, so sometimes he feels the need to work even on these kinds of holidays), so we'll get to play even longer. Oh yeah, and our 12-year anniversary is on Sunday, so hopefully we'll go to dinner or something. Maybe we can find a babysitter willing to spend the night at the lake for the night! :)

Sigh...this thread makes me want to be back in OR, WA, or BC...I love it up there!

But here....this is basically the start of its-too-hot-to-be-outside season. LOL. Srsly, I hate hot weather, and 90 and above is just too much. But what are we doing this weekend....we might head to the Chuckwagon Cookout/Children's Festival here in town. Thinking about going to the 45th Infantry Museum on Monday. Other than that, I'm not sure.
