The Mouse that wouldn't leave!

So we have lived in our house for almost 3 years (it'll be 3 years June 23rd) and when we moved in our basement was finished but only half of it was really finished. It's carpeted and paneled with tons of shelves and cupboards. We use it as a playroom. The other half was "half done"....it had the drop down ceiling but was not paneled and had the worlds ugliest linoleum on the floor......it also had a small swimming pool in it!!! We had a interior french drain put in (to the tune of $6000 grand :glare:) and bye bye pool....but we just never did anything else with it.....until now....with the new baby coming we need another room.

So we decided to finish the 2nd half of the basement and convert it into the girls room (they are 11 & 7 and are THRILLED!!). So this whole weekend was spent working.....late Friday night Dh was ripping down the old drop ceiling to replace it with new tiles and a mouse fell and hit him in the face *giggle* he freaks for a second then realize it's like old and shriveled and dead and chucks it in the garbage bag.

Saturday, we are both down there and we are putting up panel and whatnot and as I bend down to get more nails what the heck is laying there...but that darn dead mouse...I freak a bit (OK a lot) and let loose with a string of curse words that would probably make a sailor blush....little poop :glare: Again he chucks it into the nearest garbage bag

I just went down to the laundry room (which just happens to be off the basement) and I see what I think it "lint" on the floor from where DH has obviously dropped it when he got his clothes out of the dryer this morning, instead of turning to throw it in the garbage can 2 feet from himself. I start to bend down and whaddya know....it's the frick fracking MOUSE!!! :glare: Damn mouse!!!!

Well just so you know....my whites aren't getting washed/dried/or put away today!!!!

ROFLMAO!!!! Sorry, but Jenny has me rolling here...

Stupid mouse. GO AWAY and leave the poor woman alone already!!!!

LOL I have to agree with Jenny.. I hate mice, we had a problem with them a few months ago. ICK!

Yeah usually where there's one there's more...back when I was single and living on my own my apartment building sat right next to this huge open field, well they cut the field and started building a big new chuch and b/c all the hay or grass or whatever it was was gone the field mice literally invaded our apartments in droves...we'd kill about 10 A DAY!! I was dating DH at the time and he'd come over and empty the traps I'd set and before we could even turn around they'd be going off...in broad daylight! Needles to say I moved pretty quickly after that. They were some fearless mice..bleh

well I had a mouse encounter back in January (when DH was gone of all things) I think I posted about it here (as I huddled on top of my computer chair :D) and we set traps for weeks on end and only caught one little brown mouse. We did find some droppings in our bathroom closet (and that's where we actually caught the mouse) but we have seen no more signs of any mice. No droppings and no actual mice.

This one is pretty decayed  so I'm 99.99999% sure it's the same stupid mouse. Remember I have like 32 kids running around this house and one of them probably knocked the garbage bag over :D :D

That's my story and I'm sticking to it :p :D :D :D
