Oh. My. God. I will not spoil it for those who have not seen it. But to those who have. Holy Crap. I freakin' BAWLED at the end!! That was so not FAIR!!!! If only they had waited a few minutes longer! But on the other hand i kinda understand why they did it. That's a better fate than the other way, i guess. But i don't know if i could have done that to my kids.:crying: I usually love anything Steven Kind does, my mom has always been a fan of his books so growing up i was used to seeing her collection of books and the few movies we watched. But i HATE this one. I can't believe the ending. I wanna write Steven King a mean letter, lol. i'm still teary. i haven't cried at a movie like that in a long time.
 
Oh i just went throught his recently!! Actually reading your post i got that sick feeling in my gut, the ending actually makes me feel ill. Its terrible!!
 
I'm afraid it's going to stay in my mind for awhile. i do feel almost physically ill, lol. But like i said, i can sort of agree on the more humane way of dying vs. the creatures. but STILL! That was reeeeeaaaallllly hard to watch!!
 
I only saw the movie only because I read the book. I didn't think the book was that great (and I'm a HUGE SK fan) but I thought the movie sucked (not just the end but the whole thing) :thumbdown:

I'm reading the uncut reeleased version of The Stand right now - 1140 pages of tiny print :blink:, however if you are a fan you probably know this is known to be the best book he's ever written. Maybe that is why The Mist was such a let down to me? I can't put The Stand down!
 
The Mist wasn't one of the greater of his movies. it was okay, but the ending totally ruined the whole movie for me. I'm disapointed! I adore SK stuff usually!
 
Oh - my - goodness. DH just rented this yesterday night. I thought the ending was SO STUPID.

I've typed my rant in white so no one will be spoiled unless they want to. Highlight to read my rant lol.
I thought the ending was written without much thought. I threw out so many scenarios to my DH. They (he) were/was brave enough to travel next door to the pharmacy...through the parking lot...YET they didn't even (or at least show them) try to get gas at a gas station or to hop another car (I'm sure they passed many cars, surely one would have the keys in it as the driver was being killed or something or other). I understand wanting to die instantly versus being a womb for bugs lol, but seriously...they couldn't line up 2 people's heads so that 1 bullet could be used? lol. Seriously, they were physically not that bad yet. Sit it out. Starve, starve, starve...buy some time. Maybe after the 1st one died of starvation you can kill the others. I was really disappointed b/c that guy was sorta the 'leader' role and at the end he didn't really come up with anything. I told DH that he probably walked away with trauma for the rest of his life. Not so much from his dead wife...there wasn't much you could do about that. But the fact that he killed his son.
