The importance of family stories

I found this article and while it's a little long, stresses the following: The single most important thing you can do for your family may be the simplest of all: develop a strong family narrative.

It just struck home for me, that keeping family stories alive help keep families alive. Just another reason to keep at the memory-keeping and story-telling and scrapbooking :wub:

As a genealogist, I can testify to this. It's important to know the stories and much more important to write them down before they are lost. We actually recorded my dad telling all the funny stories of when he was a kid and growing up. We did the same with my great grandma and grandmother.

Also, does anyone else want to start a Thanksgiving tradition like the one in the article? Sounds like fun.
 
We have Thanksgiving tradition that each kid is assigned to cook/bake something. Most of the time, they end up making more than what they were assigned with.
