The garbage man is NOT gonna like me!!!

We have gone through ONLY half of the bins of toys in our basement but have 4 50 gallon bags full of garbage and 2 for Goodwill.......mind you though we still have A LOT more to go through so I am sure that number will climb. It feels so good to get rid of all the crap...I can't wait to finally get that basement organized so they can play and I can have a sewing area again :)
 
LOL! I hear you, we do this every year before bdays and Christmas, it's time to do the before Christmas round right now!
 
I'm trying to do that with clothes - my kids have closets full of clothes that they don't like and won't wear that are taking up so much space. I have so much laundry to do - it's the ban of all evil in my house!!!
 
Oh wow - will you come do my basement when you're done with yours? My kids have waaaaayyyy too much crap, but every time I start to clean it all out, I just feel overwhelmed...lol.
 
I have a hard time pitching stuff too. Lena and I just tossed two huge bags of toys last week. It was liberating (mostly broken) and freed up space for the inevitable onslaught of Christmas toys coming soon!
 
A couple of Saturday's ago I did the same thing in the girls room, it took most of the day but when we were done I had 3 huge bags full of trash & broken toys and a broken dresser (:cursing:) to throw away! It's so nice to be able to see carpet in there again though :D And now they can also get everything cleaned back up after playing with their toys in less than 20 minutes!
 
OK so we are pretty much done except for the twins room but we ended up with 6 bags of garbage and a crap load of stuff to give to my niece and some local daycare centers. I feel so much better now it is ridiculous!!! We started this yesterday around 3:30 pm till around 9:30 and again this morning from about 10:00 am till NOW......FINALLY!!!!!
 
I've been purging all week too!! Feels good! I have TONS of clothes going to the used store tomorrow. Feels good to get it out of the house and to hopefully someone who can really use it :)
 
I was done, until I went in the basement today. A ton of stuff is after getting wet, it appears as if the water got in the past couple of days (we've had heavy rain), so I have to get down there this week to start tossing. It's going to be Wednesday before I get time!
 
Ugh, I really need to do this too. But I can't until at least after Tuesday since OUR bin is full and we filled the neighbor's too (she said we could, since she's away). They're small bins, though...only fit about 2 large garbage bags.
