The Dreaded Credits List...

I have a regular old notebook and write notes in pencil. I note what the page is for (like a challenge) and put the date. Then I just write down what I used ( i can erase or just scratch out the things I changed my mind about). I always write down the font(s).

I have learned a couple nifty tricks for PSE 6 in this thread that'll come in right handy, lol, so thanks to those ladies

Im kinda weird but I drag the previews into photoshop from the kits etc Im scrapping and then just flip through them as I am doing my credits. I am totally checking out evernote now though! Just dl it! Thanks for that! Always looking for new toys LOL

I always tried writing them down, but I've found I'm not good at that, so I just rely on my good memory and upload right away! LOL!

If I am working in the same kit usually I don't worry but if I am using a bunch of different things I open Notepad and type everything as I'm using it because if not I will forget!

No-one uses ACDSee?!? It's soooo cool and handy! It's so easy in reality but will take forever to explain in words...but let me try:

You open what's called the "image basket" in ACDSee (see this as your shopping cart in the supermarket). As you scrap, you drag everything you want to use in to the "image basket". You set up your scrapping program (in my case PSE 6) to be your "editor". Then you just highlight all the images in the "image basket" and press "ctrl+E" to send them to your editor (PSE 6). You can do this as many times as you like. You know ...adding more items as and when you need them while you scrap.

Then in the "favorites" pane in ACDSee you create a folder for your layout. Say your layout is called "home". I create a folder called "home". You send all your files from the image basket to your "home" folder. And then the magic begins: you highlight all the items in your "home" folder and press "ctrl+G" and voila you get a listing of ALL the items you have used for your layout. And if you have them tagged you also have every item listed with the designer's name and the kit name :) It is brilliant!!!

I have only used this for a few weeks, but you could go back to a layout in say 2 months time and have a credit list within the press of two buttons!! Amazing!!

Sorry this was long. I hope my explanation made some sense :)

I add the info as I work to the "File Info" in PS so that when I do upload it's a simple copy>paste and I have the information available even months down the road without having to hunt for it, since it's right there with the jpg file.

In my pre vista days, i'd always just put my credits and journaling in an email draft for copying and pasting from later, but now that I have VISTA i use that cute little notepad thinger on the desktop! I love it, it looks like a little digital postit pad, and I use it for EVERYTHING! (I'm inlove with vista, it also has a little photoshow thing and the cutest little cpu meter :))

I open notepad on my computer. I just started doing this -- used to have an actual notebook on my computer desk. However, I started doing Sweet Rewards and I've kind of been a scrapping fool, doing 5 layouts a day for the challenges. I don't want to flood the gallery, so instead I'm putting all the info in notepad (link for gallery, thread to post link in, credits) and then I just open the text file when I post a layout and it's all right there.

I write them all down on a spreadsheet I created in Excel. It has columns for kit, elements, alpha, challenge & file name

I shared a tip about this a looonngg time ago on the FPD blog

If you have CS3 you can use the "Load Files into Stack" script that will put all of your open images into one document and the cool thing is that it names the layers with the actual file names. Now when I open up one of my layouts, all of the layers are named so I know exactly who to credit. I LOVE this feature.

I usually just copy and paste from the file name in the top of my acdsee into a notepad and then when im ready to upload copy and paste the whole list of credits. There is also image basket in acdsee that you can throw everything your using into there so you wont forget...
