The coldest freaking day of the year...

and my heat goes out! UGH!

Thankfully we have gas logs so we're not freezing or anything, but it's just always something..I told DH that the central air would die while he was gone..and my dishwasher is on it's last leg too :cursing: :cursing:

Someone is coming out today to look at it..I'm sure it's just dead b/c the house is 16 years old and so is the central air unit and because that's just the kind of luck I have when DH is deployed. :cursing: :cursing: Would you believe that when he was in Afghanistan our central air and water heater both died at the same time in our old house and had to be replaced! UGH!

I hear ya... I went less than two blocks to our local dollar general to get a few things before heading to work and my car won't start. can't get the hood open because the latch is frozen - some kind older couple gave my dd and I a ride back so we didn't have to walk in the zero degree weather!

thank goodness for nice people!!! hubby is at work and wasn't able to come rescue me :(
 
Oh no--I hope it's an easy fix and you don't need a new one. Our heat and air conditioning go out more than we'd like because because the people who owned the house before us put in a unit that's inadequate to meet the demands of a house this size. It's only 5 years old, but we're probably going to have to replace the whole thing in a few years. :cursing:
 
Oh that sucks. Glad you at least have the gas logs...but hope that whatever is wrong with the heater is a cheap repair.
 
Okay..it's not as bad as I thought...it just needs some part replaced...we have a heat pump which I HATE... but anyway, the man who came out to service it goes to my church and was great about trying to find the problem. He has to order the parts but it shouldn't be too terribly pricey I hope.
