The background here... pink or yellow stripes?

I think something is wonky with one of my monitors, need to figure out which one to calibrate. :blink: For some reason, on my big honking monitor belonging to our desktop, the stripes here look peachy/yellowish... but on my little laptop here, they look like a soft pink. I'm thinking it is really supposed to be more pinkish... am I right? Is there ANY yellow in the background at all, lol?

Actually the striped b/g is yellow. Soft yellow, but yellow nonetheless.

And the matt under the corkboard-looking header is pink.
 
when I switch screens (open a thread) I get a yellow striped background paper.

how strange it's different person to person. Maybe because I am using an older version of IE?

Ok, this is actually great news! :) B/c the big monitor is our nice new one I scrap on... I am puzzled about why it looks pinkish on my laptop though... it might be the angle or an illusion.... well, i just discovered if i tilt my head far to the right it looks like the same color as that second cupcake frosting... but straight on lighter and more pinkish.
 
On my laptop at home mine looks exactly like the screenshot Becca posted. On my monitor at work the stripes are yellow yellow yellow. :blink:

That is the view I get when I am on a computer that doesn't recognize PNG files. If I scroll all the way over I get the yellow background, but where the PNG file is (where the flowers overlap the title area) I see a greyish blue. So that might be the issue.

At work, I have IE6 and it's just like that ^ too! Except a bit more grey, and the stripes appear on the far sides of my monitor.

At home I use Firefox and it shows up with yellow stripes like it's supposed to.

Maybe its just a browser issue? I hate my work computer and it's stupid IE6. Gmail's new themes don't work with IE6 either.

For you it is definitely because your computer isnt viewing PNG files correctly... I dont know how to fix that though :(
 
Yep at first I was wondering what you all were talking about because I don't have the stripes either, just the bluish background, but I think I get the blue at home on Firefox and at work on IE6--I do see the yellow stripes for a second when I move forward or backward
 
I get what LuAnn has and then the yellow stripes on each side here at my work monitor. But I get no blue matting on my home laptop, and the stripes are kind of peachy colored. I don't know if the difference is that my home laptop has Vista, but the work computer does not.

I get the same thing (at home and at work) and when I click on a new thread, for a brief second, I see yellow and white stripes.
 
You peachy orange girls need to calibrate your monitors :D

The stripes are definitely yellow, pale yellow and cream LOL.
