When I saw this tutorial, I knew immediately I had to try it. The sooner the better.

I chose papers from Zoe's Pretty as a Picture and this is the result...

A pinkish one:

So, thanks, Andrea, for the wonderful inspiration! I can still remember that I kept saying I was never going hybrid as I didn't want to get any new gadgets (my place is full of those crafts stuff anyway)... well... am happy to be proven wrong, it's fun. :-)

@eggshell: No, they aren't difficult at all. If you take a look at Andrea's tutorial, you'll see it for yourself. Don't get discouraged, you can do it.

@Andrea: Thanks! That card of yours belongs to my favourite of favourites, and the tutorial was totally helpful. I think I should have used a slightly thinner paper (mine was 200g/m2, no idea what that means in US units though, still it's more than twice when compared with normal paper), but it went fine just as well.

I totally love the fact that it's easy and the result is so impressive. I think I'll make some more, it's really fun. And it's great not to stare at the screen for a change and do something with my hands. ;-)

I was also finally able to choose 3 edge punches and bought them on EBay -- can't wait to use them. I keep dreaming about the loopy one. ;-)

They turned out fab! I bookmarked the tutorial to try it out sometime. Question though - how on earth do you put a card like that in an envelope for someone?? :D
 
A friend of mine asked the same question yesterday. This is what I told her - I don't think this is the type of card to be sent by mail. It's the type to be given in person and be showed off shamelessly somewhere on a visible place. ;-)
 
Eggshell I'm in the UK (Newcastle) and I use 160gsm bright white inkjet/laser presentation paper from Staples. It's their own make and £6.99 a packet.

What to do with a lumpy bumpy card? Look at the tutorial I did here for my friends blog (it's not another digi store so I am linking) and I've used that very same tutorial to make boxes for this and this in the SSD gallery

Um, I'm totally in awe of you :blink:!! It's just stunning.....however, way more effort than I'm willing to put in :D :D

Cool. Without seeing your reply, I bought 160g/m2 paper today. The 200g did seem a bit too thick to me. :-)

How awesome is that? Alas, I feel I no longer have patience for that (hm, at least it seems to me)... But in my younger days I'd have given it a try. :-)
