Wanting to get a photo of my boys in a field of them since we are leaving for Japan in Sept. Thought it would be a perfect setting for their 5th bday photos. So when do they generally bloom?
They are already out in all their beauty in Washington County (around Brenham). We just drove back/forth to Austin this past weekend and there were a lot of people out getting photos. I plan to go back this coming weekend to get some snaps of the kids.
I'll ask my son's teacher if they are blooming yet. She says she usually sees them around here about late March. But with the lack of rain we've had up until lately...we'll see, hopefully it was enough!
Yep, now is a great time for the Brenham/Chappell Hill area. That's generally where we always took our pics, and Washington-on-the-Brazos is nearby and a neat place to visit if you're in the area. And of course Blue Bell Creamery...gotta get some of the best ice cream in the country while you're out there!
I'm in San Antonio and they are out.. unfortunately not in the numbers they usually are because of the dry weather, but the rain last week helped a little.
Please fill us in when they start turning up in that area! My trip to Houston for this weekend to visit the family fell through due to finances, but maybe I could manage a day trip to north Texas....really really miss my bluebonnets!
