Template/Cookie Help w/Colors

I've been noticing with some templates lately, that the original color of my photos are looking washed-out once I drag them on to my templates.

What happens to the photo and how do I fix this?

I went back and checked...but everything is set at "Normal" and at 100%.

I'm not sure, but would a color space issue cause this? Like your photo is in one colorspace and the template is another? 8bit vs 16 bit, or different color profiles?

I checked this too...everything looks like it's an 8 bit.
