tater tot casserole?

I do! It's not a traditional recipe, but it is yummy!

I put a pound of hamburger on the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish and top it with Mrs Dash, and bake it for about 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven. When the hamburger is no longer pink, I drain it (very carefully so it doesn't fall out of the baking dish!) ... and then layer it with some sliced cheese. I then take a can of Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soup and mix some milk or water in it to make it a creamy consistency. I put 1/2-3/4 of the mixture on top of the cheese. I then layer tater tots on top of that, and finally I put the remaining soup mixture on top of the tater tots and sprinkle more Mrs Dash on top. I bake it in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are done.

In general, I just take a pound of browned ground beef, add in some cream of something soup, stir in some sour cream if I have it, and add some thawed green peas. Put it in a 9x13 dish, cover with tater tots and bake for 45 minutes.

This is exactly how I do it except I put a layer of shredded cheddar cheese on during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Same as Kim and Libby... except sometimes I use green beans inplace of peas. Oh, and since I add garlic to EVERYTHING... there is a good dash of garlic powder, grill seasoning, and a curry powder added to the hamburger while browning.

I do about the same except I finely dice a small onion and add that in with the ground beef while it's browning. And I use corn instead of peas or green beans. Also, I found cream of mushroom and chicken soup... in one can!... so I use that.

The recipe I have is for a tater tot breakfast casserole.

Here's the recipe if you ever wanna try it:

1 pound ground pork breakfast sausage
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
2 eggs
2 pounds tater tots

Preheat oven to 350 degrees..
Cook sausage over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and spread evenly in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Spread cheese over sausage. In large bowl, beat together milk and eggs. Pour over cheese. (May be refrigerated overnight at this point). Top with tater tots. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

mmmm! my mom makes this! i didnt know it was so well known, lol. i thought it was something she made up. i'm going to have to make this, like this week, lol.

Ok....this sounds really yummy! I've never made that before! Do you spray Pam on your dish - or else how do you keep it from sticking?

My version:

brown 1 pound of hamburger, drain

Using a casserole dish:
Add hamburger, some finely chopped onion, one can of cream of mushroom condensed soup, one can cream of chicken condensed soup, one can of sweet corn, one can of green beans. Add spices as desired.

Mix it all up throughly. Then add a layer of tator tops across the top so that they are all laying flat and bake in the oven ... the temp and time are the only things I don't remember right now.

It is so yummy!

Here's a breakfast one that my family loves:

1 package sausage gravy mix
4 cups frozen tater tots (I use the whole package)
1 Tablespoon oil
1/2 cup jimmy dean sausage, cooked (I use the whole package)
1 1/2 cups water
2 eggs
2 cups shredded cheddar

Preheat oven to 350. Heat oil, lightly brown tater tots (approx. 3-4 minutes). Layer tater tots & sausage in a greased baking dish. Mix gravy packet with water, beat, add eggs and mix. Pour mixture over tater tots. bake 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese, bake another 3-5 minutes.
