Talk About Overwhelming!

Years ago, my husband, while stationed at a naval academy in Tennessee, met a young girl, she was 16 and he was 17. Anyway while he was out to sea, he got a letter from an attorney for him to sign adoption papers for a son that he knew nothing about. He thought he was doing the right thing at the time when he signed the papers. Years later after he got out of the Navy he looked for her and him but records are closed. Tonight he got to talk to his son! He had been adopted and given a new name. Today that search came to an end. My husband is one happy Dad right now. Overwhelmed but happy! The son found him on facebook. Illinois finally opened up all adoption papers a couple of years ago and the son was able to get his adoption records and original birth certificate. He located his biological mother and from her got the name of his biological father which is my husband. The resemblance between him and my husband is remarkable!

Oh, wow! That is so amazing. What a sweet story. Does your husband plan to meet him sometime?

Oh wow, that's wonderful! I think it's awesome that they found each other, and both are happy about it. I see more scrapbook pages in your future Rachel! :D

We are planning a meeting sometime in October during Dennis' vacation. We will probably meet half way. The son lives in the Chicago area and we live in Alabama. He also has 2 sons. Can't wait to meet them!
