Taking the plunge!!!

OK, as we speak, I'm dl'ing the trial version of ACDsee. I've been wanting to try it, and I just deleted a bunch of old crap from my scrapping folder  , so now's a great time. Michael and the kids are sick  , so we'll be home all day tomorrow and I can play with it in between being the nurse. lol

Me too! I've been thinking of trying a trial too :) I'm thinking it may help me get away from being such a "kit scrapper" (not that that is bad, I just would like to expand my repertoire a bit).

For organizing "they" (DigiscrapInfo) suggest making a goal of spending 15 minutes a day organizing. It is a time consuming process especially if you have tons of stuff. Start with tagging your recent purchases first then work through you older stuff. I keep new stuff in a certain folder unitl it has been tagged. Sometimes when I'm just in a "brain-dead" mood that's when I do my tagging....it's kind of relaxing in a way and I feel like I am at least accomplishing something. Be sure to check out the videos and tutorials at DigiscrapInfo. There are also premade categories to get you started and can modify to your own preferences

Well, so far I'm loving it! It is sooo easy to learn! I spent a couple of hours last night creating my categories (I'm very specific, read: OCD about the categories I have my stuff in) and tagging, and it's been awesome! I hope to get everything tagged in the next few days and then really put it through the ropes with actual scrapping to see how it goes. I LOVE that I can put 1 element in as many categories as I want to without having to duplicate it 50 billion times on my HD!

So far still totally loving it! I'm still tagging, but it's not taking nearly as long as I expected, honestly. The "speed tagging" method is really helping.

Yeah, I did the speed tagging in the beginning too. At least that's what I think it was -- I searched my big scrap file for file names with certain words in them (like ribbon, border, stitch, frame etc) and then tagged them in big groups that way. It's amazing how much of my stash that picked up. Now, I just tag individual kits as I buy and use them.

Here's a link to the speed tagging method:

If you dl the trial through this site only, you get 30 days. The regular trial is 7 days. What is does is dl the regular 7 day trial, then you "activate" the longer trial through an e-mail which extends it to 30 days.

Photo Manager 2009 is $50, but there's a coupon here for 15% off:

I think I have way too much to tag, but maybe that speed tagging would be nice, cause I have all my seperate elements in special folders so they would be a snap to tag maybe. Maybe if it didn't take so long I would do it
