I am so glad this season is over! I thought it was awful. The winner was made clear weeks ago - how boring. And even more pitiful is the rest of them just let Kim win - no one tried to take her out. Even at final TC, they all were acting like she had to make all the calls...which she did. So even though she controlled the game, it was not a hard game to control because no one rocked the boat. Ugh.

I probably would not have stuck with this season except that my twins wanted to continue watching it. But worst season ever IMO.

So...onto next season. The 3 they are bringing back have been spoiled, but I won't say anything here in case you don't want to know. It can't be any worse though!
 
I agree was clear who was going to win weeks ago. Shoulda gotten her out when they could.
I really liked Kat's speech...kinda made me teary eyed. It's like she kinda grew up out there

I'm a big Russell Swan fan so I hope he makes it back...I <3 James too but he was sort of a jerk his last appearance if that's personality that would come back I could do without..and it would be his 4th shot so I doubt he'd come back. Jonathan Penner would be a good choice as would Mike Skupin although the game has changed SOO much since he played (I think he woulda won his season not Tina)
 
ohh just saw you said it's been spoiled...hmmmm not sure I wanna go look or just keep hoping awhile longer lol

I have a feeling Colton might be one since Jeff said something last night about would you play again..although wouldn't they already be filming which would actually cut Colton and Kourtney out (I also heard Kourtney has cancer..not sure how true it is?)
 
Yep - I think they're already filming next season's show.

I loved what Colton's mom said to him last night at the finale. And, it was good to see him showing some remorse for how MEAN he was. I think the game would have been a lot more interesting if he had stayed in the game. As it was, Kim was the obvious choice.

Loved Kat at the final tribal.

I'd love to see them come back.

I had Kim in the office pool, random draw...I won 130$
 
It's not Colton - they are filming right now. Good guesses Meg! ;)

There are a lot of seasons I have not seen and I will say the ones they are bringing back are all in seasons I haven't seen. So it really will be like all new people for me.

I thought Colton should have been a lot more clear right at the start. Apologize straight out. It took a lot of discussion to get to that point. And they spent WAAAAAAY too much time on him. He was "interesting" to watch this season because he was so hateful, but bringing him back, I think, would be futile because he would have to change his ways. I have to say, he was right, the season got boring after he left.

And if you liked Kat at FTC, you really should go watch the Ponderosa video when Alicia gets there - it's like there are 2 different Kats. LOL
 
I recognize 2 of the guys, but one of them looks like it was someone I didn't like. LOL I was on Wikipedia and along the side there are pictures of some of the contestants & winners. I'm surprised at how many of the winners I don't recognize! So much for being a fan of the show. LOL
 
I enjoyed Kat's speech last night too - like a totally different person.

I knew Kim was going to win too but she did sort of deserve it. If anyone else would have won I probably would have been ticked. LOL
 
I think Kim absolutely deserved it. She played a good game and she played most of those people like a fiddle. I agree though, totally boring season. I still have to watch the reunion show, only watched until Kim was announced the winner and then went on to something else. May have to watch the rest to see the Colton stuff. I hope his mom ripped him a new one. :D
 
Yeah totally boring season. I read an interview with Jeff yesterday and he even admitted this season was a total let down..that Kim would be one of those winners you just don't remember b/c she didn't really do anything amazing. i think she just got lucky and got cast with a bunch of dummies. I've never seen a group just pick a leader and carry them all the way to the end and say here you go..have a million dollars. Crazy.

I'm way excited if Jonathan Penner is back..I've always liked him.

Season 25...it's crazy! I've never missed a season either..that's probably even crazier lol

Yes, this, exactly.

I'm actually thinking of renting the seasons I haven't seen. I don't know much about them and only know of a couple of winners but don't even know which season they were in. Might be something fun to do over the summer with the boys.
 
One of my all time favorite seasons was The Australian Outback when Colby was on for the first time..I think it was season 2 actually... a LOONG time ago lol..I just remember they really had to survive back then...like with no food or water..I remember them really suffering on that season...it doesn't seem like they do that as much in later seasons...not sure why.

That's my favorite season too!

Glad this season is over - as you all have said it was pretty boring. Can't wait to see who the returning cast members will be!
 
so glad this boring season is over. i'm glad mike might be coming back (he killed the pig remember?) but the game is so different now and he'll be 10 years older so I wonder how long he'll last. He was a little crazy!
 
I watched seasons 4 through 12, then missed a lot and came back to watch again starting with season 20 Heroes vs. Villians.

I love Colby on Top Shot so I really need to watch that season. Guess I'll be looking for the missing seasons!
 
I think it'll be interesting to see how things work out with 3 tribes. I thought they said they hadn't done that since season 8?

I'm curious to know though, for those of you long time fans, what makes a season exciting for you?

I only started watching with Heroes vs Villians which I loved but I feel like all the seasons since then have been pretty much the same to me. I'd actually put this past season above most of them but maybe that's because I hated the Redemption Island twist, especially since I didn't know anything about the returning vets. I thought the way the women managed to pull it together to dominate the men given how terrible they were at the beginning of this season was a pretty great story. Plus I loved how much strategic thinking Kim put into the game but perhaps it's because I loved Parvati on HvV and Kim reminded me a little bit of her in the way she played everyone, especially the guys.
 
I don't like seasons when the winner is a foregone conclusion early on (unless it's Boston Rob ;) ). And this season was one of the worst.

I like seasons with big moves, with power changing hands, with people playing smart. None of that happened this season. I can't even say Kim played smart because she really didn't have any obstacles in her way. I think the editors had to work hard to put some kind of suspense in there. But it still fell flat for me.

Yeah, I did not like RI either and hope they never bring that back.

Yeah, see, I only knew Boston Rob from the short time he was on HvV so for me that season was SO boring - worse than this season even because I didn't like the people on his tribe.

I think you did have to be a Boston Rob fan to enjoy that season, because, yes he dominated. Since I'm a fan of his, and he won, it was very satisfactory for me. :)

Oh and I also think this season had a lot of "mean-ness" right out in the open. Colton, of course, then Alicia joining in and being horrible to Christina and others. And then all the girls being so bad with Troyzan - cheering when he lost, etc. I don't think I've ever seen that much vicious vitriol by an entire tribe against one person before, right out in the open. All because HE was the one trying to break up that girl alliance. I guess that's why I hated all the girls - they were embarrassing in more ways than one.

One more thing and then I'll shut up. ;) The ONE thing that Kim did that impressed me is that she took 2 people to the FTC who might have beaten her. She could have taken 2 goats in Tarzan and Alicia and known she would win, but Sabrina and Chelsea were well-liked. So good for her on that.
 
To love Boston Rob you have to go back to his first couple of seasons...

I think that one reason later seasons aren't as exciting..at least for me is b/c it's been on so long..and people who are cast now have seen the game and know how it's played..they know kind of what to expect..making alliances things like that..in the first seasons, all of that was evolving...no one knew that alliances worked or didn't work, most of them didn't spend months prepping for when they got there..like learning how to swim/make fire/etc. Nowadays when a 20 something is cast..they probably grew up watching it..literally. (which makes me feel real old btw lol) But they go into the game with plan sort of and a knowledge base of what's worked and hasn't...in the earlier seasons you didn't see that as much and to me they were much more spontaneous with their plays and stuff.

See, I was wondering if it was something like that because people keep complaining about how boring the seasons are and they all just seem to be about the same level of excitement to me, haha. But I can see how the early days would be different. I keep hoping they'll put the old season on Netflix Instant Watch but so far it's just discs. I'm curious to go back and see the originals.
 
One thing that I enjoyed from previous (early seasons) is how they showed life back at camp. It wasn't just reward and immunity challenges and then tribal council. They really showed the people interacting with each other and making friendships. You really don't see that anymore. Maybe because everyone goes right into game mode? I don't know.
