Whee! So glad Survivor is back!

Loved the first challenge getting everything off with a bang. And that marine is HUGE!

Malcolm was quiet last night..does anyone know if his season aired before they started filming Fans vs. Favorites? I know he's playing back to back but I'm just wondering if anyone he's playing with knows anything about him or not.

Not sure who I'm rooting for yet but hopefully this season is good.

Cochran's sunburn - OUCH..and it was hilarious when he said it happened "instantly" :D

And was that opening tagline scene with Jeff amazing or what? How the heck did they get him on top of that rock?

Wait. Was there actually an episode on last night? I thought it started this weekend. Crap - now I have to go find it!

I'm not sure about the timing of the filming, good question!
Cochran's poor feet. But he's still hillarious. LOL
 
This season was completed before the previous season aired so no one knows Malcolm, neither the fans nor the favorites.

I was so glad Fran was voted off first again! I can't for the life of me figure out how she was there in the first place, except maybe they wanted her to spar with Phillip. It's just not possible that she was a "favorite."

I don't know Corrine or Erik, but I'm fine with all the rest, even Brandon and Phillip. ;) I always wondered why no one complained of being sunburned. That would definitely be my problem out there! It was painful to watch Cochran walk in sand with those burned feet - ouch!

Hoping this is a good season too!
 
I haven't watched yet but I did read that Malcolm only got a two and half week break between seasons. So no, no one has seen him play. He's the only person other than Russell to have that little time between seasons.
 
I just finished watching. I just can't help cheering for Malcolm. I loved him last season. And, I really like Cochran and Dawn, so I'm glad they voted with that side of the tribe . . . would hate to have to split my loyalties. Lol.

Looks like it may be a fun season. :)
 
oh man...only 2 and a half weeks?!? That's hardly time to recover...he's probably exhausted! No wonder he was so quiet!
 
thought it was a good episode! So glad Fran is gone..yep Malcom has the advantage I think going in since none of the fans or faves had seen his season when they filmed this since it was filmed back to back

Also made me think..since the finale is "live" that he filmed this season not knowing who won his season lol if he'd been final 3 it technically could have been him. Wonder if they would have brought him back if that was the case

I actually didn't mind Phillip and Brandon last night...can't wait to see the season play out (trying my best to avoid spoilers)

Right? There was an interview with him on EW.com and he basically said just that. That he wasn't physically in the same place he was at the start of this season as he was at the start of his first season. Will be interesting to see if that helps or hurts him.

Jeff Probst said they'd decided early on in the season (like day 20) that they wanted to bring him back if he didn't win. This was the interview with all of that info: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/01/22/survivor-caramoan-jeff-probst-malcolm-freberg/ It says they basically asked him to return minutes after he was eliminated.
 
That's what I thought about Malcolm.

I didn't understand Fancesca coming back either as a favorite...she was only in one episode lol
 
They must have had a hard time getting people to return if they brought back Francesca. I really didn't even remember her until they showed Philip mispronouncing her name.

At this point I'm rooting for Malcolm early on since I loved him on his season.

And I want the "cool kids table" voted off the Fans team first.
 
I read an interview with Jeff Probst and he said they only invited people who'd played in the last 10 seasons...so none of the really older players were invited. Maybe that's why we got Francesca.

I'm for Malcolm too...he's too adorable not to be lol

I kept thinking, um, they know they need more than 4 in an alliance at this point, right? They came off as really stupid!

I've been reading a lot of spoilers and this season should be quite interesting!
 
I am watching too!
What was up with the Marine shouting "Break The Wrist!" and then Jeff, was like "Wait! What?!"
