surely my child isn't the only one

I have never done it and thankfully neither have my kids but when you work at a company that has a satellite office in India the police are at the office once a week because no one can figure out how to dial internationally! They finally had to change dialing 9 for an outside line to dialing 7 for an outside line! LOL!

Pam, I did exactly that! And it was India, even! The numbers on my phone stuck, so instead of dialing 9 - 011- etc I dialed 911. The security officers downstairs called me when the police showed up in the lobby. I was totally mortified.
 
We cant call 911 here its a 1-800 some other numbers LOL We have it programed into our blackberry's and the stupid things dial themselves all the time. The other day Doug was leaving and was bending down kissing the kids and the phone in his pocket dialled 911 and I could here his pocket talking so i told him and he took the phone out and gave it to me and I here. Hello this is 911 do you have an emergency? I explained to them what happened and he asked me acouple times so there is no emergency? No.. Oh that was embarrasing! LOL It did that yesterday to me to when I was doing laundry but it called gone hollywood LOL
 
OK this is a yes and no for me. My son was told at school that if anyone tried to hurt him he should scream fire or police. I sent him to his room one evening for misbehaving and he yelled out the window HELP!! FIRE!! POLICE!! I went in there and promptly got him quieted down but our neighbors heard him and called police and they came out. They were very angry at first at us then at him when I explained it. The one officer told him that I could send him to his room and I could in fact spank his bottom also. He did not like that. Up to that point he was convinced that we were not allowed to punish him at all...not even a timeout or a scolding.

Another time I was sound asleep in bed with my newborn son and my other son was asleep next to me and I hear a loud pounding on the door and open it to like five police officers. They have to come in to check because they do not believe everything is ok. I guess I looked pretty bad when I woke up LOL. It was ok of course but we never did figure out how the call got placed because we didnt even have a phone plugged in because our phone was broken and wouldnt stay hung up and we had not made it out to get a new one. If I needed to make a call I plugged it in and then unplugged it when I was done. I showed them that and they said well I guess that would explain why there was no answer when we called you back.

Third time I was in a grocery store and I get a call on my cell phone from the local police dept saying they received a call from this number from a woman in danger saying that her husband was beating her. She asked me several times if I was ok and I told her that this is my cell phone and I had not placed the call and that I was actually in the middle of a grocery store and could have someone tell her that was actually where I was. She said no that would not be necasary and apologized and hung up
