Suggestions for good early reader chapter books?

Keira is really enjoying reading, she's at a mid year second grade reading level.

I could use some suggestions on chapter books for her.

I bought her the first 3 Moody Judy books a couple weeks ago and she's read them all and started them again. So I ordered books 4, 5, & 6 for her. I'd like to stock up for summer.

What do you recommend.
 
I second Magic Tree House and Junie B Jones!!! I can't wait for my boys to start reading both of those series!!!! I have all of the books from when I taught. My advanced first grade students read those all the time!!!! I have read them all too!!! I read the Junie B books aloud to my boys at bedtime!! They love them!!!
 
ohh my favorites as a kid were The Boxcar Kids (or children?), The Giving Tree, Shel Silverstein (anything by him), July Blume's Superfudge & Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing (and the last one in that series is pretty good but I do not know the name of it) I also read Little House on the Prarie at that age as well
 
My son read literally dozens of Magic Tree House books -- they seem to be equally popular with boys and girls.
 
Magic Treehouse is what my son loves to read on his own at the moment. We've also had success with Cam Jansen and Flat Stanley.
 
Another for Magic Treehouse - Cheyanne started reading them late in kindergarten and I think read every last one that was in print by the time she finished 2nd grade. She also loved the nonfiction companion books that came with some of them. I bought many a set through the scholastic book club at school since they always had a set of 10 for a really great price.

I should get some junie b jones. I know Kathryn likes them. At first I didn't at all because of the grammar thing, but it's grown on me some...
 
I've been doing read alouds of the "Spy Kids" to my 5 year old son. 3 kids travel throughout time and solve mysteries. Much more interesting story lines than the magic tree house, but I'm not sure of the reading level since she'll be reading on her own. Oh and he LOVES Geronimo Stilton. Especially the girl-oriented ones that are written by "Thea Stilton". These are college 'mice' that travel around the world solving mysteries. I like them too!
 
The American Girl Books! My daughter liked specific girls the best (Kaya and Josephina) We also loved the Magic Tree House books at that age.
 
My daughter also enjoyed (and still enjoys in 4th grade) the Magic Tree House books. Also Cam Jansen books were a big hit. I personally don't like June B Jones but obviously other parents do. Henry and Mudge was a nice series too.
 
My daughter never cared for Magic Treehouse and, like Juli, I don't like Junie B. There seems to be too much baby talk in there for my taste. My daughter brought a few home back in kindergarten and I read them to her and was really turned off by them. Fortunately she whizzed right past the reading level for them so she hasn't been too interested in them since.

Cam Jansen is one we all love. I love that there are young Cam Jansen books and then there are ones written for a little more advanced reader. Its great for kids to be able to follow a series they like even after their reading improves past the level the series is initially written for.

Caitrin loves Animal Ark books, Puppy Place, Kitty Place and any other animal related book. There are some great horse series books that she adores. American Girl books are very well loved in this house as are Dear America books (which I believe are on a higher reading level than AG books in general). When she was in 2nd grade she started getting in to Baby-Sitters Club books but I wouldn't say they are at the appropriate reading level.

I work with 2nd and 3rd graders. I see a lot of Henry and Mudge, Cowgirl Kate, Bonz, Magic Tree House, Ready Freddie (which my kindergartener loves!) and Bad Kitty coming in with the 2nd graders.
 
Both of my girls inherited my love of reading so we are constantly going to the library for new books! Sometimes it seems like we've checked every book out a couple times lol! Kelsie is 8 and she loves the Junie B Jones, Judy Moody, Captain Underpants, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and lots of others. Both of the girls like the American Girl books as well. She is reading through the Judy Moody series right now, I think we have the entire series checked out right now.
 
Mine also loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She likes the Dork Diaries series too. She's also been reading through the books based on The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I read halfway through The Best School Year Ever while she was having her teeth cleaned. She's really liking those. Of course, she read all of the Harry Potter books twice already and now my kindergartener is reading Harry Potter. Honestly, those aren't my choice of literature for them (Harry Potter) but their dad had already let them watch the movies and they've played the games based on the movies so at this point they know what happens anyway.
