Suggestions for folded notecard services?

I've used VistaPrint before, for our annual Christmas cards, and depending on the quantity/etc. their prices are really reasonable and I've always liked the quality a lot.

Here's the pricing I found for the folded 5"x7" cards when I took a peek just now:
I've done the glossy multiple times before, and it turns out really nicely. This past Christmas, I also did the 100lb Premium Matte Cardstock... and it was AWESOME. I think that if/whenever I do cards that are photo-based, I will do the glossy... but if/whenever I do something that's digiscrapelated (my cards this past year were a scrapped card, w/ photos that had vintage finishing/treatment) -- I'll go w/ the matte. It was really, really classy looking.

p.s. I'm in no-way affiliated w/ the company... I've used lots of printing companies in the past, and this is my fave for cards b/c the quality is decent and the pricing is affordable. When it comes to printing my layouts, I go with other companies (Persnickety for 12"x12" prints, and Shutterfly for photo books)...

I've also used the Canadian version of Vistaprint many times. I like them although I wish you could customize the back of the folded card. There is one thing I've done with them that helps the cost. I should say that I've only used them for small note cards rather than 5x7 cards, which are more expensive. But when you have an account with Vistaprint, they frequently send you e-mails with deals, often daily. Often the item is free - in the case of small note cards, it would be free for 10 cards and then you pay the shipping and tax. I've actually found that it is cheaper to place separate orders and buy 10 free cards at a time and just pay the shipping/tax than to order the full amount in one order. Anyway, just wanted to mention it - that is my little cheat with them. It may not work if you're looking at the larger cards given that they aren't offered for free (I don't think so anyway) but I thought I would tell you about it.
I've also done folded note cards at WHCC and really liked the quality. I recently used a small flat card from WHCC in the art watercolour finish as a thank you card and they were beautiful and quite reasonable in price.

I have used Shutterfly for years so I am accustomed to their quality. I purchased some from Vistaprint and I threw them away. I wasn't happy at all. The paper was cheap and light and the print was awful. I may have just gotten a bad batch but I wouldn't use them. I reordered from Shutterfly. That was my only experience with cards through Vistaprint but I have tried other products of theirs. I feel their quality is always kind of hit or miss with what I've tried. Some things have been amazing and other things I give to the kids to play with because I can't use it.
However, like you said, Shutterfly is a little expensive. I don't pay full price though, ever. There are always so many codes and discounts and free product offers floating around that I plan way in advance and order as deals come up. Right now there are codes for 101 free prints, for example, last week it was a free large magnet or 11x14 print.
