Stories in Hand?

Does that class start today? Were we supposed to get an email about it? I can't recall and I didn't see a forum for it this morning on Jessica's site.

Of course I don't know what time zone she is in and it could be the crack of dawn for her. I'm just eager. :)

It is supposed to be today, unless something changed. But the day isn't over yet! I'm excited for it to start, too.

I read on her site yesterday that an email will go out today and then the first class will be posted tomorrow.

ETA: This is straight from her blog

Totally not bloggy this week. Super busy getting ready for the Stories in Hand class! Holy cow, we are going to have a serious par-tay! The intro email goes out Sunday, and the first lesson goes up on Monday the 9th! Don’t forget that registration ends Saturday at midnight EST. :D

I think that is what is confusing me. Monday is the 10th. I thought Sunday was an odd day to start a class

Yep - I'm getting seriously excited about this class! I talked a non-scrapping friend into taking this with me. She wants to start scrapping, so I thought this would be such a great way for her to get her stories together!

I know! I cant wait either. I bought myself a Moleskin Journal just for this occasion and I cant wait to use it! I am resisting though!

I am getting a little anxious myself :) I can't wait to get started and I had all of my supplies for over a week now! It should be lots of fun!

Hey guys, I just read this on her blog:

Stories In Hand Begins tomorrow, November 10! (I messed up on the start date, sorry!)

The class message board is open! Stop by and say hello!

We had a record number of registrants for our class, and we're so happy to see so many new faces! Look for the first email tomorrow morning (November 10), but please be patient - we are experiencing a delay with our email software, which should be resolved first thing tomorrow morning! We so appreciate your patience! Don't hesitate to send me an email with questions!

I just checked out the message board. I'll be trying to wait patiently until tomorrow :)

I wonder if there's a way to un register from that. There was no way I could afford those supplies, let along go get them. Had I realized at first what would be required, I'd not have signed up.
I looked before and couldn't see anywhere to do so, but that doesn't mean it's not there, lol.

I didn't see a way to un-enroll, Brooke. Maybe shooting an e-mail to Jessica would help?

Brooke you don't NEED to use the supplies. Any notebook you have laying around would work fine. You would skip and of the scrapping stuff, which is no big deal because the intent of the class is the STORIES :)

Please don't give up!

Brooke, what Col said! In fact, you could just use a series of Word documents or any old notebook you have handy. It seems like such a cool concept, I'd hate to see you give up because you can't afford to buy supplies.

And I'll just keep bugging you on IM if you give up :D

Quick question here...I bought the little 6x6 binder from JoAnns and the part of the cover that isn't colored is really ugly. Does anyone know if we are going to do something fun with that during the class or am I going to have to make something up to pretty it up a bit?

Kelli, Jessica mentioned on her introduction that she will have a cover for the binder to give to the class or you can make your own :)

There's a newer thread from Jessica about supplies on the forum, and it basically says that we shouldn't worry about not having them because the main thing we'll need is blank cardstock. I'm waiting to see the project and format before I decide how to handle it. I may do it all digi and not print, I may use a naked binder I have that isn't exactly the right size and just make it work, or I may use a regular notebook with folders and just keep the worksheets in the folders. I may even try to shrink things down and put them in the page protectors of a 4x6 photo album I have laying around. Regardless, don't let the supply list keep you away!

ditto. I have some of the supplies somewhere around here. I may never find them LOL but I'm hoping to get some ideas from the class. And anyway it's free so why not?

So has anyone finished day one yet?

Good lord woman, it's 830 in the morning! LOL! NO! (ETA: You posted at 6am!!! NO it's not done yet! LMAO!!)

I haven't gotten the binder I want. I was going to use book board and binder rings, but I think I want it to be in that sturdier binder format. So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do there. I might skip the scrapping part for now and focus on the stories for a while :)

I'm still trying to figure out text color in PSE. PSP won't open Acrobat files as layered so I'm having to use PSE5 for maybe the second time in my life to add the boys names.

Then the scissors and I are going to have to come to terms....

Well, I did my tabs and changed them with the names of my kids and hubster and printed them out. I don't have a binder yet, so I'm just using jump rings to keep it all together until I can get some chipboard to make my album.

that'll work paula!! i'm so excited to get home and get started on this!!

I didn't get an e-mail either... just went to the site like Lizzy! Does anyone have an idea of what font she is using for the tabs?
