Stitches removal........

So prepare me.....does it hurt? Do they get kind of stuck when the dr tries to take them out? Ashley is so scared to get them out tomorrow, and I am trying to prepare her, but I have no clue. I had a few when I was little, but I don't remember at all what it was like to get them out.

I was very young the last time I had stitches pulled and I remember is a little bit of tugging. I don't remember it hurting. My cousin's little girl (3) just pulled her stitches out herself and it didn't seem to hurt her.

I don't think it would hurt.. I've had staples removed (not stitches though) and it was just like plucking my eyebrows.. ^_^ I'd imagine stitches would be less tuggy?

I had stitches once when I was about 16 when I cut my finger open from the tip all the way down to the base of the finger. I was supposed to go back to have them taken out something like 10 days later I think but I didnt make it back in and the cut was basically healed at that point so I just took them out myself. It did not hurt at all.

Done correctly it shouldn't hurt at all. Just a slight tugging or pulling sensation.

It doesn't hurt...just a little tugging or pressure. Shouldn't be painful at all.

no pain, I just took out DH's stitches two weeks ago and they just slide out easily.

Emma had stitches taken out last summer, and she is queen of drama queens. She didn't even bat an eye! Tell Ashley good luck and she'll do great!
