Still no baby..

Oh hun I hope you can get dialated and induced! Keep up the walking, husband exercise (very similar to the membrane stripping but more fun and less painful), and drink Raspberry LEAF tea, not just raspberry tea. They actually tell you not to drink it during pregnancy because it can cause contractions, but at the end....go for it! I had a great midwife with my first and she gave me all the "tips".

As for the MIL...put her to work! LOL! Be the bossy, preggo mama! At least then you get something out of her visit. Oh yeah and GO ON A DATE TO A MOVIE!!!! You won't for a long time afterwards LOL! Twighlight???

I had my membranes stripped. My doctor told me that it will help if you're ready to go. And that it usually starts labor within 1-2 days. Now I had mine stripped on Monday and DH and I dtd the next two days. On Wednesday night right before midnight my water broke literally 10 minutes after dtd(now the water breaking, that was a weird feeling). And she was born the next day at 3:40pm! Seems like only yesterday...

I was induced with both of my kids. Keira it was a little quicker once the started the induction, like 9 hours, Cooper was like 12 hours.

I tried everything, sex, the special tea, caster oil, walking around, stripping my membranes, nothing worked.

With Keira I was a day over due when they induced me, but I was having contractions.

With Cooper I was a week early, but had gallbladder issues. I think I was about 3 cm both times when I was induced though.

Hugs honey.

Oh gosh Nikki, I feel for you....

My daughter had her membranes stripped, but that didn't work....My brother in law is a licensed Massage Therapist and he even tried giving her a Shiatsu Massage....In some cases it is said to help bring on labor....

In the end, we started walking around the development where we live and if you didn't know better, you would have thought that she was a crazy lady 'cause she walked so fast and furious....LOL Later that evening she started back labor and the next a.m. we were on our way to the hospital after her water broke....

Hope to hear some good news soon!!

Not to stress ya..I was almost 10 days late with my last 2 kiddos

you need to have lots of S.E.X (sorry to be blunt ... but it works)

I am with Amber. Blunt but true. I highly recommed some good quality time with hubby. That is how i ended my third pregnancy at 37 weeks. My lord was I sick of being pregnant. And I am pretty sure you two might like that remedy after a long absence.

Man I hope!! She had an appt today scheduled so if she's not having that precious girl already hopefully we'll hear some news later :)

Sorry girls..I'm still very pregnant :( and pretty depressed about it. DH leaves 1 week from today. I have an appt this morninig and I've been praying all weekend that something will be happening so that we can induce. If he misses the birth after all of this I will be devastated. I'm going to beg my doc to do anything he can to get things going. It almost would have been worth the c-section just to already have her and have this time together as a family. It's hard to completely enjoy DH being home when I'm so distracted by wanting this baby out kwim? I just don't think I can make it one more day like this. Anyway, hopefully, we'll be staying today or going back in the morning to induce. Wish me luck!

GL Nikki!! Sending up some P&PT for some progress and a safe delivery soon so your DH can spend some time with your new bundle

I'll be thinking and praying for you Nikki!
I hope your little pink precious bundle makes her arrival very soon!

Oh, honey. You're in my prayers today. I'm going to pray that they decide to take her today so you can stop worrying about it and enjoy your new baby girl and having DH home. :)

Me too! Come on baby, time to meet daddy. Stop playing around in there!:)

Poor Nikki :( I hope there was progress and they induced her this morning. Maybe that's why she hasn't checked in? Fingers crossed!

Nikki, I hope you are off having your baby, so this is irrelevant, but you can ask for a c-section if you want. There are doctors who will do it in order for the father to be present at the birth of their baby.

As I'm sure you know c-sections come with a certain level of risk and recovery can be tougher (especially if you are on your own once hubby leaves). So it may not be worth it to you and dh. Anyway, I know it's controversial, but I thought I'd throw it out there as an option.

Come on baby girl - daddy really wants to see that beautiful face before he goes.

You are all so sweet for thinking of me :)...so I saw the doc again today and had another u/s..she's head down but way up high and hasn't dropped one little bit...she's also estimated at 8 1/2 lbs as of today...sooo my doc has now rescheduled the c-section for wednesday morning. He said he didn't anticipate her dropping before DH has to leave on Monday and that once she does drop she'll probably be too big for me to deliver anyway and since I want my tubes tied as well we're going ahead with the section. It's not my first choice but when faced with the option of DH not being here for her delivery I have to go with the surgery kwim? So hopefully by 8 am Wed morning I'll have my baby girl!

Well, even though it's not your first choice, it's still good news that you'll be seeing your sweet baby girl soon and that your DH will be there! :)

Awwww, I'm sorry she's still being so stubborn, but I'm glad you'll see her soon and get to spend time together as a family while DH is home :)

Awww...I'm sorry Nikki!
I was hoping for a natural birth for you, but I'm glad that your dear hubby will get to hold his precious bundle before heading back.
All my love and best wishes!

Given all those variables, that seems like the best plan, Nikki, and I am so glad you'll be able to relax now that you know when the baby's coming & that your DH will be there.

Good luck with your birth. I am glad you have a clear path forward and can hopefully enjoy yourself a little more without the stress of wondering when you are going into labor. By this time Wed, you will be holding your little one!

If it makes you feel any better, I had my first naturally and was quite opposed to a c-section but my placenta previa prevented me from having Little Mister Phin naturally...
omg, it was so much easier for me to recover from the c-section and it was so nice and fast. I'm just happy that I get to do it that way next time, too! =)
