Standing Desks?

Does anyone here use one?

I have been looking at them for years now but still have not purchased one. I think I would love the option of being able to stand sometimes to work as I've read it can also help with focus (which I am in desperate need of)

Anyways just looking to see who uses one and if it is benefiting :)

I exclusively use a desktop computer, no laptop here.

It doesn't work for me, as standing in place increases my pain.

Jay has a standing desk at work and he uses it in both standing and sitting options. For home, he had one (which is in storage), but found that he was not using the standing function and it was way too big for our office anyway.

Jay liked having the option to stand, especially during those lazy lulls during the afternoon.

I have one from Ikea. They had two kinds when I wanted to get it. One had a button to move up and down. And one goes up and down with a crank. I got the one with a crank since I planned to keep it up most of the time and saved me over $200 compared to the one with the up and down button. The crank works fine and I'm happy with it. I did late get a drafting chair - so I can sit when the desk is up. It works for me!

I've had the desk for over 2 years now and I still love it!

I believe this is the one

My husband has that exact desk. He works from home, and uses it all the time. He's had it for a couple years. We went with the crank because price too. He like being able to sit, but have the option to stand up. He has his computer and 2 monitors on it, and they stay fine when it goes up and down.

I use a Husky work table that can be raised or lowered. It's SUPER heavy and sturdy. lol I'll probably have to get a different desk when we move because of how heavy it is. We currently have concrete floors so the weight isn't a problem, but most houses here have wood floors.
I don't stand as much as I thought I would, but it is very handy when I remember to do it!

thank you for all of the suggestions!!

I have read that some are more sturdy than others.. of course the really sturdy ones aren't in my budget LOL

We went through that too! It's why we have the manual crank - pricing.

The Ikea one tilts just barely if you put too much weight on the front when it's fully extended. Not enough for anything to fall, just enough that you notice it. But my husband often has it extended all the way to the top, and he says it's sturdy.

I wish I had one. My legs swell up like a water balloon sometimes if I sit in this position too long and standing up would really help.

A lot of my coworkers have one, but rarely use them. I do not have one. I just make sure to stand up and stretch often. I also have to walk to the other side of the building to get water so that helps me move a bit more too.
