Squeeee - I get to pack lunches next week

No - really, I am kind of excited!! Homeschooling is the life for us - but there are some things about going away to school that I do miss, and surprisingly enough, packing lunches is one of them!

The boys are going to day camp next week (YAY! Mommy time - NEVER have I had 6+ hrs per day to be alone!) and they need to take lunches, so we're going to plan tomorrow for the week, and for the fun of it, might actually go get a couple of lunchboxes for them LOL

LOL Well yay for you! I hate making lunches, I'm a mean mom who makes her kids do them themselves. ( the 6 hours of me time, I can totally get with that program )

I used to love packing lunches. Then, Colton got picky and would only eat peanut butter sandwiches. BORING!

I loathe packing lunches.....they get so boring after awhile esp when you have kids that will buy MAYBE 5 times the whole school year

LOL - I can understand your excitement. Cheyanne has been packing her own lunches for several years (since about age 6 or 7) but once in a while I do it for her to be nice if she's running behind. And the 6+ hours a day is awesome! :thumbup:

But I hated doing it. I once calculated how many lunches I had packed over the years and it was something like 3600 lunches just for elementary school. :blink: I can count on one hand how many lunches were purchased over 13 years and 4 boys. Once they hit middle school, they buy. Next year Wyatt even gets to go off-campus for lunch since he is a Senior.

Have fun with all that free time and we expect to see some layouts! :thumbup:

I guess I am odd man out...........I love doing lunches. It breaks my heart when Landon chooses to have the lunchroom meal instead. HA! And guess what Darcy? I got a Pinterst board with lunch box ideas! Imagine that! LOL

So excited for you to get some great mommy time in though! That is REALLY exciting!

My kids pack their own lunches. It isn't my thing. Then again, like I said in the chores thread, I hate cooking of any variety. LOL

I hate packing lunches! One of my kids won't buy and he's picky, so we've come up with 5 lunches that are acceptable to both of us and I just rotate through them. He has to do parts of it himself (drink, silverware, etc) but a lot of the things he takes can't be prepared the night before and he stalls too much in the morning. Next year he's going to a different school that starts later, so I may have him do it himself if there's enough time between when we drop his brother off and when he needs to leave.
