Speaking of Habits....

are you OCD about anything in particular even if you don't consider yourself OCD:D

1. Vaccuming...I could seriously vaccum every piece of carpet in my house 2-3 times a day (but I just don't have to time for it...and I know it isn't realistic:D)....the steps get to me the worst!
2. I have this thing about the shoes being all tidy by pairs by the front door (this always doesn't happen unless I have Abby do it...it is one of her chores)...it is just one of those things that gets under my skin.....
3. my hard wood floors being swept....seriously I HATE to sweep or mop and every little thing on the floor just gets under my skin even in my DH's computer room...I always bitch at him about picking up the paper that the dog chewed up, or something one of the kids left on the floor, just anything!!!
4. the shower curtain HAS TO BE SHUT at all times :D
5. my stairs being clean of clutter...NOBODY in my house can pick up anythign I put on the steps (even if it is theirs) when they go upstairs:cursing:

so what are some of your quirks LOL!

I can think of a couple. The pillows on the couch... DH tries to "fix" them after sitting on the couch, but I'm the only one that really knows how they go! I have to fix them or I will get annoyed next time I come back in the room - I notice immediately. The other thing is the dishcloth hanging in the kitchen. I can't stand for the back of the cloth to show because the front is hanging too high - kwim? I know that's so picky, but I'm the one constantly fixing it, so no one can complain about that! lol

The bed has to be made a certain way, as in, the 6 pillows on our bed have to be ordered in a certain way and facing the proper directions. My dear husband does not understand this phenomenon ... but hey, if I can get him to make the bed I won't complain if it's not perfect :D

This is me EXACTLY about the bed. And my bed has to be made before I go downstairs for the day. IF DH is still in it for some reason, then he has to make it, because if I come back upstairs sometime during the day and it's not made, I am NOT HAPPY!

I'm OCD about closing the garage door as I leave. It's such an automatic thing to push the button to close it that I don't *remember* if I pushed it and it closed. So many times I'll be driving through the neighborhood and think "did I close the garage door?" and have to go BACK to the house to see. Not once have I found it open, but I still can't shake it.

The kitchen counters have to be clean & clutter free. My family likes to leave random crap on them since the kitchen is the central room in the house and at any given moment i have a hammer, three screws, some lego blocks & lego man, a small flashlight, 2 clone troopers and a flyer for a scholastic book sale that ended 3 days ago, sitting on them. I am constantly pushing things in the junk drawer. (I refuse to put them where they belong)

Oh and cups and bowls sitting NEXT TO the sink. It's a matter of inches to put things in the sink. And you have to WALK PAST the dishwasher to get to the sink. Seriously, it's less effort to open the dishwasher & drop the bowl/glass onto the top rack. but no one does it and the random dishes & bowls & glasses on the counter drive me nuts

dresser drawers must be shut... drives me nuts that DH leaves it a little bit open or doesn't push the drawer all the way... now, cupboards? Yeah - I have a habit of always leaving them a little open, which drives my hubby nuts... we are a perfect pair. hahahaha :D

I go a little ballistic if I am trying to find something in the kitchen because someone put it away where it doesn't belong. omg thing NEED to be where they should be, grrr.

One day dh decided it made for sense for the cups to be in a different cupboard and he rearranged like 4 whole cupboards in the kitchen. He almost did not live.

Ohhh these are types of posts I really should stay away from because... well... it shows too much about my character, lol!

* I vacuum often. I must see lines. If no lines, then it must need vacuuming, right?
* My fridge.... for the love of all that is holy, will people just stay away from my fridge! I can't stand it that noone puts things back where they BELONG... where I put them... where they MUST be. For example, taking out the ketchup from the fridge door, where I had it, and then putting it on a shelve inside the fridge - why would you do that?! You had to move a few things to put that ketchup there, so why did you do that? My milk has a spot in the door... the door was made this way. It has a cooling feature thingy in the door, for the milk/juice, so why do you insist on putting it on a shelf? Again, you had to move things... so why do it? It sends me through the roof!
* The blankets that I have on the backs of the couches during the cooler months are all nice and tidy, folded nicely... so why when you sit on the couch, not using the blanket, must you pull the blanket off the couch and toss it aside?? Why??So then, when they get up and leave, I am going behind them fixing the pillows and the blankets.
* The kitchen has a clean towel at all times in it's 'spot' - why must they toss it all sloppily onto the counter where it doesn't belong??

I could go on and on and on.....

I think my family is doing it all on purpose, to make me nuttier than I already am :-)

Nope. I'm really not prone to OCD-like behaviors. In fact, I'm completely the opposite... I am known to annoy my husband (who is more obsessive about stuff) constantly. I leave random drawers and cabinet doors open, I move things and re-arrange stuff without warning, I am bad about putting things back where they go (like the scissors... we own about 12 pairs because I never can find them after I use them!).

Although, that's not to say that I don't do things a certain way (like arranging the pillows on the couch and bed) but random stuff doesn't annoy me and I don't always fix things if they're not right. For example, if the roll of TP is backwards I don't get annoyed or fix it but if I put it on I put it on right. OCD would be if I actually remove the roll, turn it and put it back on. Like, DH leaves his socks on the kitchen table (ew) sometimes... and other random places. Anywhere but the dirty laundry basket. That's pretty annoying to me on a regular basis, but I don't always immediately move his socks... i depends. :p

omg...I can totally realte to all of these things too!!!!! and though I don't neccessarily fix them, inside it drives me NUTS!!!!!:D

Sadly the only thing I am OCD about is after I clean out the litter box or the hamster cages I must double wash my hands. If I don't, I feel like they are not clean enough. Now if only I could be a little OCD about how clean my house is....

The chairs have to be pushed in to the table! I can't stand it if my DH and DGD get up from the table after a meal and not push their chairs in. I am the same way with our computer tables and chairs.
