i wasn't going to read the books; i figured that it was enough that i'm watching True Blood. but i just finished the first one. and i'm so glad i decided to read them! as usual, there are so many little details in the book that aren't in the show. it was so good. as i read, i heard all their voices and that cute accent when Sookie and them were speaking, lol. and i totally laughed outloud at one part; ::those who want to read and don't want a spoiler, stop now:: When Bill had to leave and he had arranged for Sookie to be watched by Bubba, and he's freaking Elvis!!? "It's the man from Memphis" :D :D i laughed outloud! it was so unexpected and clever. thats why there are so many sightings of Elvis; he's a vampire, lol!

i'm going to go right now and buy some more books!
 
i know! thats why i was afraid to get them cause i didn't want it to be like i was just reading the tv show all over again. while some things are the same, you're right; there are enough other little details and things that its like something new!
 
I know! I'm on book three and loving it! Can't wait to get to book four...apparently that's where you "see" a lot of Eric.
 
I started reading the books (finished the first 2) and now want to see the show! I've only seen the first episode of the first season though and was amazed how different the show and book is.
 
I have switched teams since reading them. :) I am now team Eric. lol! But I still love TV Show Bill. :P Just not Book Bill as much. :D
 
I think it's really cool that the TV Bill and Sookie are engaged. irl...I love the books & the show!
 
I just bought the first two books. I need to start reading. I don't get HBO so I don't watch the show since the first 4 episodes... but I loved it...
 
I got the first 7 for Christmas and finished the 8th a few weeks ago. I'm NOT buying any more books until they're in paperback because all my other ones are, but it's SO hard not to go out and buy the hardcover because I want to read more Sookie!! I'm on the waiting list at the library and am 3rd in line, but who knows how long it'll be before I get it because the people can keep renewing! Then there's another one coming out in October too!
 
See, I am SOOO team Eric. Something about Bill (show Bill...and since I saw the show first, I guess book Bill too) makes me wanna go wash myself.

LOL! Laura!!! See...I have that problem in a good way....but I like Book Eric lol And after reading the books (4 Especially) I am DYING to see Eric in those scenes and maybe I will like TV Eric better lmbo
 
Ahhh I want to go buy the third book right now! I don't get hbo so I watch them online... shhh don't tell.
 
I love love love love love the books. Love. Hate the show. Don't throw things at me.

I love Eric, but I like Quinn better. Cannot, so much, stand Bill.

Bill's ickiness (for lack of a better word) gets MUCH worse in the books the farther you go.. and wait until you "meet" Quinn. Yummy.
 
I liked Quinn too!!!!

I still am drawn to Bill a bit..like he's her first love...but the things he does and stuff is just sad. :( I do think the show made him better though. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out!
 
I LOVED the books!! And I also LOVE the show! They add a lot to the show...I guess for entertainment purposes, but it's still good!

I liked Quinn too...but I'm a die hard Eric fan!:thumbup:
 
I just really really want to see if they'll ever introduce Bubba in the show. That would be freaking hillarious!
 
Seems like a shame not to include him for some amazing humour. I have to say...I'm just starting book #4 and Bill is really starting to annoy me.
 
yeah..I think they said it would be too hard...or something. And would need permission or something..can't remember. I read that forever ago before I had any idea who they were talking about lol
 
This is one of those rare instances where I actually like the show better than the book. I've only read the first one, but I didn't really feel intriqued to read more, whereas I love the show!
 
i love Bill on the show. and so far i don't have a problem with him in the book yet. i love Sookie and Bills relationship on the show; its so sweet. now at first when i watched the show i didnt give Eric much thought; i thought he was cute but sort of an arrogant ass. but now that he's in the show more i LOVE Eric! and he is SO tall!!! :D he is like s e x on legs :D i read an interview with him online and he is so adorably modest :wub:
