Christy Lyle

Sweet Shoppe Designer
I'm so thrilled to tell you that I am the featured designer at Songbird Avenue the month of August! What an amazing opportunity to work with Jan and Meredith for such a great cause - the National Parkinson Foundation.

I have something extra-special for you...so be sure to read (and see) below what's included with the kit. First up, here's a look at the kit...Changes.

And for the FIRST TIME EVER at Songbird Avenue, included with the kit is an album! Our very own SugarBabe, Jackie Delfin, generously volunteered her time to make this gorgeous album! How sweet is she?! Thanks so much Jacq! This album perfectly fits Basic Grey's Luggage Tag Album which you can find right here in the shoppe. Here's a look at the album.

About the Charity:
Parkinson disease is a brain disorder which occurs when certain nerve cells in the brain die or become impaired. Normally, these cells produce a chemical called dopamine which allows the smooth and coordinated function of the body’s muscle movement. When approximately 80% of the dopamine-producing cells are damaged, the symptoms of Parkinson disease appear. Some signs of Parkinson disease are tremor (shaking), slowness of movement, rigidity (stiffness), difficulty of balance, small or cramped handwriting, stiff facial expression, shuffling walk, muffled speech and depression.

Parkinson disease affects both men and women in almost equal numbers. While the condition usually develops after the age of 65, 15% of those diagnosed are under 50. There is no known cure for Parkinson disease however there are currently some treatment options: medication and surgical therapy, lifestyle modifications such as rest and exercise, physical therapy and speech therapy.

My grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson disease in his 40s and since there is no cure for Parkinson disease, he was affected with the disease for the rest of his life.

I'm thankful for the many years of research and education that the National Parkinson Foundation has done and is doing for those who suffer from Parkinson disease.

I would ask you to please help support this cause so that one day there may be a cure for Parkinson disease. Thanks so much!

This kit is gorgeous and I have to say, Christy's papers are stunning! Here's a LO I did with the kit...

Christy, what a great cause! My step father lived with Parkinson's disease up until he passed away a few years ago and I know what a debilitating disease it is. It's great to think that some of our scrapping will go toward finding a cure and potentially improving the lives of so many (both the people with the disease and their loved ones).

Lovely LOs ladies!

Christy-The kit is beautiful...I'm heading over to buy it ASAP. My uncle has Parkinson's, and they've done amazing things with the research, but there is still so far to go...This is an amazing cause, and I'm excited to be able to give just a little to support it!

The colors in this one are really beautiful! I absolutely 100% support organizations that fund health research! I'm there, dude.

Beautiful kit! My dad has Parkinson's, was diagnosed about a year ago. I'll have to pick this up and let all my family know about it!!! :)
