Hi everyone :) I left an introduction on the "delurk yourself" thread for the potluck but I'll introduce myself again here :)

Im Rebecca(25) married to Damian(27) for almost 8 years, we have two boys Devin (turning 8 very soon) and Ethan (turning 2yrs in December)

I discovered digi scrapbooking about 3 months ago and Im already addicted! :p I find following templates easiest for me and Im not sure I will be able to break away from them lol I have no idea about layering! lol One of my questions is how do I know what a good drop shadow is? I have just been using the drop shadow automatic setting in PSCS2, its ok but I find myself wanting to play with my shadowing more. What are some common setting you all use? Also with templates, they are really big and I have been resizing them to %15, do you all think thats a good size? TIA, looking forward to hanging out here more :)

Welcome to SSD Rebecca! I was just searching for Megan's tutorial but I see Kristin beat me to it! Megan is amazing at shadows - you can't go wrong following her!

Rebecca, if you want to print them out as 12x12" pages, you should leave them full size and just show them on your monitor at 15-16%. I just posted a tutorial under another thread about resizing for the web. Web resolution is WAY less than what you would need for print quality. Drop shadows are a matter of personal preference. I'm pretty aggressive with mine. I don't have any standard size. It really depends on what effect I'm going for. Once you find ones you like, you can save your own styles, so you can use them over and over. You can also buy shadow styles to load into your program. HTH!

shadows are definately a personal preference... i don't like using other people's just cuz i like to control the look i'm going for. just much around w/ the various shadow settings and see what you like :)

Hello :) I just wanted to say welcome to the Sweet Shoppe. I have no idea about drop shadows as I'm a paper and scissors girl :)
