Software for DVD Slideshows

Since ya'll are so wonderfully experienced, I thought I'd sneak in another question this week...:)

I am doing up picture slideshows with music on a DVD for each of my day care families for Christmas.

I'm familar with Roxio, but are there any other software programs out there that you would recommend?

I thought I read last week somewhere that ACDSee does DVD slideshows...so if you have that for organizing, check that option out! :)

I've never done a slideshow, though, so I'm not much help! LOL! :D

I have Nero for burning DVDs and they have several other burning functions, including making a slideshow that can be burned onto a DVD and watched off your computer. Although one limitation I almost ran into is that there's a maximum of 100 images (or 99 or something) per slideshow.

Another one I've heard about is ProShow Gold, I believe they have unlimited # of images per show and tons more transition effects. I had actually d/l the free trial, but didn't get to try it out w/in the 15 day free trial period.

I checked out Proshow and it looks pretty good. I also checked out Roxio Easy Media Creator, but the ratings aren't too great on that one.

I think I'll download the trial of Proshow.
