Social Media?

hi, me again :wub:

So - social media wasn't a big thing years ago and I'm trying to figure out how my "scrapping life" fits into my real life social media.

so...

  1. do scrappers follow each other in real life via social media? if so, FB? or Instagram?
  2. do you have a separate account for your scrapbooking work than your real life?
  3. what about pinterest? how does that fit in?

I follow scrappers and stores on my IG (instagram). I do a little with FB (liking designers), but I do not add people who aren't my friends on my friend's list. I do however have a LOT of digital scrapbook FB Groups that I post my layouts (think of it as an extended gallery)

2. Do you have a separate account for your scrapbooking work than your real life?
Not really....IG is all layouts, sometimes personal life. FB, in the groups is just me posting layouts, but for my friends list, not really many digi-friends unless we are "friends" and chat more than the occassional "hi" here and there.

3. What about pinterest? how does that fit in?
I have a Pinterest board for digital scrapbooking. I repin my layouts there. Some people follow and do other things with Pinterest, but I don't really know how it works and just post my layouts there to get more advertising for my designers.
 
I follow fellow scrappers through all three social medias you mentioned, FB, Instagram and Pinterest. I also follow some "gallery" groups on FB.

As a designer, I use all three mediums to share my work. I have a fan page, pinterest boards and an instagram account for LJS Designs.

My LJS Designs FB is different from my personal FB page, I do all my pinning under one account and use a naming system to keep things separate and the only Instagram account I have is for my designs.

I like to see what everyone is creating, so connecting with them on social media means I see a lot of pretty things from a lot of different people, which I find very inspiring.
 
I personally only have a "scrappy FB" with a ton of my digi-friends and just a few of my close family and friends are on. I post almost only scrapping pages on there but occasional stuff here and there. I found it too hard to maintain a scrapping one for my creative teams and a personal one at the same time. This way my close friends and family can still talk to me and see "pictures" of my kids through my pages.

I also have an IG account and Pinterest boards that I post my CT layouts to as well. I don't really follow many people or do much on Pinterest other than quick posting my CT pages. I find myself perusing IG much more than I do Pinterest (although that might be largely in part b/c I'm one of the IG SugarBabes. Lol..)

I follow a lot of people I know in digi-land and some I don't know at all but am inspired by. I am never weirded out of someone I don't know follows me either. I consider it a compliment of sorts!

I have to add, of course, that if you share your layouts on IG be sure to tag #sweetshoppedesigns so we can see them! We love to see what everyone makes with our designers products and even feature them on our page sometimes! We also run contests and competitions on IG from time to time too where you can win product from the Shoppe. So yeah, I think you should start an IG account! :p
 
oh wow! I had no idea that gallery type FB groups existed! can you guys share some of them here, or is that against TOU for the forums? I would love to join and connect that way.
 
I rarely post anything on Facebook anymore. It's just for family and close friends.

For Instagram I just created a second account for only my scrapping. I try to be better at posting there. My other account is private. Feel free to add me> luan37s

I don't post anything on Pinterest.

On IG, I follow some scrappers like Mary, Sarah, SSD and others. I only have one acct each for FB and IG. Sometimes I also post LOs on IG. Until a couple of months ago, I used to post on tons of FB groups, but when I received a few messages from some of my friends asking if my acct is getting hacked every Friday (like seriously :D) because of the "spam" of LOs I post (because not all groups are into private setting), I just chose a few groups to post my LOs into. I realized that I might be flodding my friends wall and I don't like it when I bother people's FB browsing with lots of repeating LOs I post since I only have a quarter of scrapping friends on my list of friends.

I have a pinterest acct and I pin scrapbook LOs I liked from different galleries and/or saving pages. It's an amazing app seriously. I spend lots of time there than on facebook.
