Soap for kids

Rae still uses Aveeno Oatmeal baby wash for her skin (she's almost 5) because she has bad eczema in places. Benjamin and Amelia have used it as well, because it's just easier for me just to get one kind for everyone, plus I like the liquid soap for them, it's a bit easier for them to use themselves in the shower.

But it is very expensive, and they don't really NEED it. What do you use for body soap for your older kids? Benjamin is almost 9, Amelia 6. They are prone to a bit of ezcema as well, but theirs is not nearly as bad as Rae's, so I don't feel they need anything special for that.

ETA Sorry I meant to mention I had planned to keep using the Aveeno on Rae, I just needed soap for the older two (ages 9 and 6). I am going through over a bottle a week, and it's $9 a bottle here.

Emma is nearly 4 and we still use the yellow Johnson & Johnson's bath wash for her. She's got a sensitive girly area and it kept getting sore (her description) when we used other stuff so I've just stuck with that. Plus it smells so good!

ce and I use the same soaps.. we both have bad eczema and I just buy sulfate free soaps (Cause he's allergic lol).. they work well on the whole.. kid sensitive skin stuff blah blah blah. Method has a nice kid soap line too.. but ce liked it a lil toooo much and dumps it out.

Kaydan has sensitive skin and has since he was a young baby.. we use Cetaphil products on him. I use Cetaphil liquid soap on my 10 month old too.

Well mostly my girls get body wash and stuff like that for Christmas and Birthday's from "great aunts". It's usually the American Girl line from Bath & Body works.

If I buy it for them it's usually Suave for kids

L'Oreal Kids Body Wash

My 4 year old boy uses "Daddy's stuff".....Lever 2000 bar soap!!!

we use the L'oreal kids body wash/shampoo combo for the boys (4 and 6), Jenna (10) used Des' Ivory body wash, Cody uses Axe body wash (14), and I use my Olay ribbons body wash. hehehe

My kids are older so my boys use Axe bodywash. My daughter and I use Bath and Body Works Silken Body Wash. When they were little though I just used Johnson and Johnson baby bath or if I didnt have that I used the Johnson and Johnson tear-free shampoo as a soap.

Mine is only 2.5, but we use Johnsons and Johnsons. I bought one of those really big bottles with the pump last summer and we are still using it. Course boys don't need as much without the long hair, but that would be a big savings.

I usually buy the Dove or Ivory body wash for all of us. And we all have those bath puffs to make it last longer.

I actually make my own soap for the family now.... Much gentler on their skin, and I know every ingredient that goes into it!! Besides, I like the yummy smells.
But if you are not into starting another hobby, find someone who makes and sells locally and give it a try. It is usually no more expensive than those 'specialty' soaps.

my kids use those little soaps in the net bag. No clue who makes them. We used to get generic ones from Target that were purple and smelled like lavander but they stopped carrying them so we had to go with the green ones that smell like watermelon. It works better for use because they were using an entire giant thing of body wash in a few baths by dumping it in the bath water and stuff.

We also got some Suave 3 in 1 that is shampoo, conditioner and body wash all in one. It smells like apples. None of my kids have sensitve skin, though, so I don't have to worry about that and just buy whatever is cheapest.

Great ideas everyone, thank you! I do live in very RURAL Canada, where my nearest Wal-Mart is 1 1/4 hours away, we don't have Target, so I have very limited options, but I'll be looking to see what I can find! Thank you!

i'm no help. we just have ds and he has horrible eczema. so i doubt we'll ever be able to buy the 'normal' cheapo kid stuff.

Oh I bought one of these for g-man for Christmas for his stocking. I got it at Wal Mart and paid like $.97 cents for it. It was with the bubble baths and stuff in the cosmetics department. i don't know if it works because i never used it.....I got it more as a stocking filler for him because i felt bad that all the other kids got bubble bath :D
