so when are you putting up your trees?

Ummmmm...

It is going up before Thanksgiving.:o
I like to put the tree up the last day that both boys are at school so I can do it alone. I do save their ornaments and the bottom 2 branches for them.

We put ours up the first weekend in December. It's just a pre-lit 3 foot tree. We keep meaning to buy a big one but then come up with one reason after another to put it off for year. This year the excuse is that we will be in Florida for the Xmas holidays. Next year I expect we 'won't find room' for it.

Oh crap!! I am gonna be the total odd ball out here!! We are putting them up this week!!!! We love, love, love Christmas in our house and I have quite a few trees. Okay, I already have one up, but it was decorated for Halloween. :p

whew. I have a kindred odd ball so I can finally answer the question! LOL  I'm starting this weekend too. the thing is, I do more than just mine. I have 4, my sister has 2, one at my mom's and the church tree and sometimes I get paid to do others, so I have to start early or mine never get done. It's a lot of work and I like to enjoy it for a long time so yeah...I'm a Christmas freak. I'll finally admit it. thanks for the support Melissa! :P

Woo hoo!!! I am not alone!!! We need a blinkie or something!!!

Ooh it's our tradition to go cut a fresh tree the first day after Thanksgiving. But the fresh Christmas tree pickins down here are slim. So we go to the lot and get a nice tree shortly after turkey day.

I usually put it up the day after thanksgiving, but here in Utah you have to use a fake tree if you want to do that. Last year I was homesick for a real tree (we moved here from Oregon 9 yrs ago) so we got one then. and it dried out no matter what I did and was so bad christmas eve that ok this i the pathetic part. I ran out to the store and the local lot had all the leftover trees for 5 bucks each. SOOO I bought one - undecorated the old tree and re decorated the new one on Christmas eve :D

This year I want the real one again so we are waiting till the second weekend in Dec. Which is making me a little sad. We don't have family room or anything to put 2 trees up. But I am trying to figure out a way to do it anyway and would put up our fake tree with all the kids ornaments the day after thanksgiving.

Since I live in Holland now and DH is Dutch we wait until after Sinterklaas (Dec 5) to put the tree up...but it has to be up by my birthday (Dec 8) or by the day of my party, whichever comes first. So this year it's going up on the 6th.

The day after Thanksgiving...it drove me crazy that the doctor's office was playing Christmas music yesterday...talk about forcing the holidays down my throat!

Woo hoo!!! I am not alone!!! We need a blinkie or something!!!

Can I join? I would do it soon but the first weekend my husband is here to get all the crap down isn't until the 21st.

But I am going ornament and decor shopping this weekend with my mom.

I have a little table top tree and usually don't put it up until the 1st week of December, but I'm not so sure about this year. My youngest DGS is 18 months old now and he is a little cyclone of terror!! He doesn't like or care to listen to the word "no" so I'm not so sure it will survive him since I take care of him everyday!

I like to have my trees up before Thanksgiving so that I can really enjoy Thanksgiving and all of the Christmas season. My mom is a complete nutjob and has at least one tree in every single room of her 7000sq ft house (including all seven bathrooms!)... and it's already halfway done! :) We are going to visit her next week and she wanted it to be decorated for my kids to see since we won't be there for Christmas AGAIN this year (three years in a row!). My house is 750 square feet and there will be one full-size tree in the family room, a thin craft-style tree in the family room or kitchen, as well as a tabletop tree in the girls' room. And there will be a tiny tree in the bathroom! I am so excited to start decorating. And I am even more excited that I get to go through all my old crap and get rid of stuff!

The majority of the time we do it the day after Thanksgiving! But sometimes that doesn't happen. If we miss the day after Thanksgiving then we do it within that week after!

Ours usually goes up the 1st December along with all the house decorations. The last two years it has gone up early undecorated, so that me neice can decorate it when she comes. I have her every Friday. Unfortunatley so has to have the smame kind of decorations together so I end up redecorating it after she goes.

I usually put mine up on Thanksgiving or that day or two after, but with it being so close to my due date this year, I might try to get the decorations up early if I'm motivated enough!!

Trees? Why does this always happen so fast, I'm still eating Halloween candy. Not until the day after Thanksgiving of course.
This year I get to decorate because this year it is MY HOUSE and not a rented dump. I am going to go all out redneck-griswald style. I'll consider taking pictures but don't want to break my camera lense with the lights and bling :D :D :D :D

Do we have to talk about this now? LOL! It's bad enough all the stores are skipping Thanksgiving all together :(

We get a live tree, usually the week after Thanksgiving.

THANK YOU - Hello it's November 4th!!!! - But we were driving through housing and there was a Christmas tree up in someones window!!!!
We have real trees and so we wait till like 2 weeks before

I was really looking forward to getting our tree - probably 1st weekend in December - but now I'm rethinking it. Last year we didn't get one because we spent Christmas in Utah with my parents. This year, since I am due December 29th, we are staying close to home. However, I babysit a 9 month old baby and I know DS would totally respect the tree, but I don't feel like say "no" 80 times a day to keep the baby away from the tree. IDK what to do!

Oh Amy if you're doing it Griswald style, you HAVE to take pictures!! LOL!!

no no no no. NOT griswold at ALL. tomorrow I will upload pics of last years stuff somewhere for you to see. I do it pretty classy..at least I think so. I have people that pay me just to do the lights on their trees. It's time consuming is all, and with my job I can't devote whole days at a time to this stuff so I have to fit it in in spurts. I may start mine this weekend but probably won't be completely done till Thanksgiving. Too..my son's birthday is on the 24th, my dh's is the 23rd and my mom's is the 26th and our weddng anniversary is the 30th...all of which usually falls right around thanksgiving and I want to spend my time enjoying those things not frantically decorating. And my son loves the fact that the house is chrstimasssy for his b-day :P

**editted, oh THAT amy is being a redneck? why am I not surprised? ROFL just kidding. But I did feel like I needed to explain the back story a bit of why I do it so early so people don't think I have well and truly gone off the rocker. Besides, DSD is going to be down next week. What ELSE is there to do???? ROFL **

ROFL!! You are too funny, girl!! :p

Bwwwahhhaaaaa
Amy- do not worry. Hubby is going to keep an eye on me and the breaker box. LOL. We had a pre-lit tree that he bought on our first Christmas together. It was all sentimental and tore up and lights blown and stuff, but I loved it and somehow it magically disappeared when we moved this summer. I must take revenge and put tacky lights on everything. No colored ones though, I'm spastic enough without having to look at those things. I'm just a product of my raisin' I say hey y'all and yehhawww. But I'll take the Christmas lights down and not leave them on the front porch all year long. I still know all the words to every old Bosephus song

BWWWHAAAHAHAAHHAHAHAA

We usually put ours up the weekend after Thanksgiving..this year it may have to wait til DH is home on the 5th b/c I can't even get the tree out of the attic lol...

I usually love decorating my house for Christmas and this is our first year in our new house..I had such great plans lol...but now I'm just too pregnant and we'll be doing good to get the tree up. :)

I put up all my decorations the day after T-day but our tree doesn't go up until the first weekend in December since we always go and cut it down.
