So since tomorrow is November...

I thought I would ask when do y'all start your Christmas decorating. Most of you know, I am a tad bit obsessed with Christmas and decorating. So I will be taking down Halloween Tuesday and start putting up my Christmas decorations. Please tell me I am not alone. LOL!!

We usually put it up day after thanksgiving...I try and do a lil bit of each..Halloween comes off tomorrow and my scarecrow collection comes up til then...I love Christmas though and usually will keep it up til mid January lol

Tradition dictates that we put up Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Any deviation from tradition is frowned upon by my husband.

In the UK the tradition is 12 twelve days before Christmas !! And then it comes down 12 days after . . It depends on how crazy things are around here. If my house is in order and I can do a nice big clean at the beginning of December I'll put them up early for Keaton like probably the first week of December.

We love Christmas and my husband usually puts the tree up the first weekend in November...so you are not alone! :)

I love Christmas but only if it lasts like a month. I won't decorate until after Thanksgiving.

I used to get super excited for the holidays! The morning of November 1st I would be packing away Halloween decorations at the same time as putting up Christmas decorations..... but with stores bringing out decorations in september, I am already sick of it by november and usually wait until after Thanksgiving #2. Also there is a HUGE issue here with putting up decorations (inside or out) before Remembrance Day.... There are always those few that say it is disrespectful and suck the joy out of the season.... I say our Vets, and those still Fighting should be honored every day and who are they to say to me that I have zero respect because I want a little holiday spirit in my life at the same time...... I dunno..... in any case all the humbug, nay sayers, and commercialism (and don't get me wrong I love to go all out and decorate just not when it's still technically summer) win every year and I just sit in robot mode and don't decorate until I have to. Our Tree doesn't go up until the first (sometimes second) week-end in December.... we do a real tree..... and though I have a few small artificial trees in the decor I will never have a fake Christmas tree.... I'd stop celebrating all together before that would ever happen. I start taking decorations down on Boxing day.... and it ALL must be gone before the end of NYE! I refuse to bring any "old year" events into the New Year.

On the other end of the spectrum, I have 60% of my holiday shopping complete ;)

We decorate for Thanksgiving too, so we don't put up the Christmas decorations until the end of Thanksgiving weekend.

We decorate my parents' house for Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend. We put up our tree sometime that next week or the first weekend in December depending on when we have the time. This year we're going to cut down our own tree so it will depend on when we can make it up to get a tree.

I usually put my tree up the week before thanksgiving. I put so many lights that the lights take a couple of days and then don't actually get to real decorating until Thanksgiving.

Christmas is actually the only holiday that we decorate for, so we put up our tree on November 1. We live in the Philippines, though, where the Christmas season starts in September, so Nov 1 is actually late here!

I WOULD put it up as soon as November hits BUT...my husband is not on board. So it's usually mid-November. But this year we're in the middle of a big remodel project so it's probably gonna be early to mid DECEMBER. It makes me sad to wait that long. But I have dressers and mattresses in my dining room and clothing racks in my kitchen at the moment so...I don't see a tree fitting in nicely. :D

In the past we waited until after Thanksgiving. Then our daughter started dancing in the Nutcracker, so we decorated the week before. But our house was so bare after 2 months of Halloween decor! So I decided we're now officially copying Disneyland, and like you Melissa, going from Halloween straight to Christmas!

As late as possible!! Maybe by the end of the second week of December, and it all comes down before New Year.

After 5 dec. On this day we celebrate sinterklaas in the netherlands.
so do christmas decoration the second week of dec.

This is me too when it comes to the tree - no fake trees for me EVER! Even when we lived in Hawaii I had a damn real tree! :D Because it's real we don't leave it up more than 3 weeks. I also have everything gone on NYE.

I will work on getting Halloween decor down this week and putting up some Fall/Thanx decor. Cmas decor goes up the weekend of Thanx.

This year is the first year we aren't going anywhere for Christmas which probably means I should put up a tree....I hate decorating, period

probably mid December, although the only decorating I do is put up a tree and a wreath on the front door. The tree will be down New Years Day at the latest.

Weekend after Thanksgiving for us. I use to try to do the day after Thanksgiving, but we usually do some Black Friday shopping for something, so it's usually Sunday after Thanksgiving.

I have a firm "one holiday at a time" policy, so I won't put up any Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving (usually the weekend after). I love having my house decorated for Christmas, but I don't enjoy the actual decorating process and tend to dread it. Did you know there are actual companies that will come in and decorate your house and yard for you? You should do that, Mel! :p

Sometime after Thanksgiving ... whenever I have the energy, lol.

Yes, this. :D I usually aim for the weekend after Thanksgiving but I know last year it was much later than that. Kind of a pain decorating with a 1.5 year old grabbing everything. Hopefully this year will be a bit better.

We usually get our tree the first weekend of December. I hate decorating...but we just moved into a new house, so we'll see what I can muster this year...

Normally after lunch on Thanksgiving we would get the tree out and start decorating it but this year we are going home to visit family so it will probably wait until we get home that weekend after Thanksgiving. I have to say the longer I wait to put it up the longer it takes me to get into the holiday spirit and that is not good for anyone who lives in my house! :)

I'm in no hurry to get up the tree since I'll be using a summer photo for the Christmas card instead of the in-front-of-the-tree shot. Plus, we need a new tree as a ton of lights are out and the cat reeked havoc on it last year. Probably December sometime.

I remember as a kid my parents always decorating after Thanksgiving. My hubby and I absolutely love Christmas so we tend to love the house decorated for a while. Funny part is by New Years Day we are taking it all down and done. LOL! So fun to see all the responses and traditions. Sadly I have only got one tree up and that is all. This year I am a slacker. :D
