I was watching the news just now and they showed a video of a woman in South FLorida who had just ran into a restaurant to get dinner when someone got into her car and grabbed her purse. I guess she must have saw the person (not really clear on that part) but she goes after the thief and is hanging onto her purse through the window of the thieves car when he/she (not sure which) floors it and the woman is thrown off the car onto the ground. They said she is in serious but stable condition at the hospital.

The walmart near my house has had this happen ALOT!! The thieves will even drive up to a woman and snatch the purse right off her shoulder. My sister-in-law actually had this happen to her and it was on the news several times since it happened to her. Im just always amazed at how brazen some criminals can be.
 
I know it just makes me so sad...seems like it is happening more and more lately. Maybe a result of a bad economy or just being reported more often? Whatever it is I just hope that this woman will be ok. They interviewed her husband and he seemed totally heartbroken
 
that is just terrible! hope she's better soon!!

I have a habit when I go shopping - I put my keys, debit card, driver's license and my cell phone in my pocket before I leave my car (yes, while the door is still locked!). In the summer, it's annoying having stuff in pockets but I figure if someone is brazen enough to grab my purse off my shoulder or out of my cart, I atleast have my stuff to get home!! I don't carry my checkbook ever. it's just a habit I got into.

Is it foolproof? probably not but makes me feel better!!
