So Sad - Corey Haim

I am so saddened by the news that he died. He was my first teen crush. I remember buying teen beat and plastering his posters all over my wall.

I had a HUGE crush on him back in the day. My hubby was so sweet this morning. He knew my once love for Corey and he came and told me he had some sad news for me. (like he was a close friend or something) Then he told me. I was surprised because that is not the news that I expected my hubby to even care enough about to tell me but not surprised that Corey is gone. He has struggled for many years.
Just another actor from my growing up years that is gone. So sad.

The headline on CNN was about "Jihad Jane" and while I was reading about her, I saw the headline about Corey and was all OH NO! and rushed to read about my childhood crush. We can clearly see the shallowness of my heart.

Andrew told me this morning. I can't say that I'm surprised. I watched both seasons of "The Two Coreys" a couple years back and he was a mess then. It really saddened me to see one of my teen 'idols' that screwed up. I'm more surprised that this didn't happen to him sooner.

That said, I feel like a piece of my childhood died with him, yk? He and the other Corey were all over my walls. I watched License to Drive and both of the Dream a Little Dream movies repeatedly. I'd really hoped that he could turn things around.
