Snow, snow, more snow!

We got at least 3 inches of fresh snow last night!! We've gotten more snow here in WV this year than we have in a long time!

I'm waiting for the plow to run before I head to work... Anyone else snowed in?

We're supposed to be getting a bad storm tonight and tomorrow....we've already had a total of 114 inches so far this season!!

nope,,,they predicted we'd have 3 inches this morning when we woke up - we got nothing (maybe a light dusting, but you can still see the grass....this year has been over-predicted for us...in southern Indiana they got 4 inches, but it just didn't reach us - and i'm NOT complaining:) Although, one big snow so that we could go sledding would be fun for the kids.

LOL! 3" isn't snowed in!

We're getting hit with snow now and I LOVE IT!! People freak out when it snows around here, so all the schools are closed which means my boss is home with his kids today. JACKPOT!

Growing up in NY, this is a light dusting. Pathetic. We'd be having snowball fights at the bus stops, if we could even scrape enough together for that, lol. They're throwing salt like there's no tomorrow. Which, considering my profession, is kinda good too. (salt = wear and tear on roads and bridges = more jobs in the future for me)

Our first snow of the year is finally falling! It's only .5 inch so far, but it looks like it'll be enough to play in. It wasn't supposed to start until tonight, so we're about to run to Target for a few essentials just in case we get snowed in.

Here, anything over 1 inch qualifies as snowed in! LOL I grew up in CT, so I'm with you. Snows of 10+ inches were pretty common, and you needed at least 4" to cancel school. Here they sometimes cancel before the snow even begins to fall! After 11 years here, I can't imagine 10 inches anymore--that's a full season of snowfall here.

You're killing me Rach. You're going to get 3" max. That is NOT snowed in. It'll melt before you run out of "essentials". :D

We're getting our first real snow of the year too. There is maybe an inch or so out there & it's coming down still, very wet flakes. The cancelled school this morning, more because of the black ice than the snow, which leads me to suspect it will be cancelled tomorrow as well.

I live in central Virginia, just east of the Shenandoahs and I swear to god the people around here think we live in a semi-tropical zone. They always react as if they have NEVER seen snow in their life and freak out whenever it snows. I've lived in this area for 14 years almost now, its snowed every winter, usually several times. Of course, I'm from WV, this is piddly couple of inches is nothing to me. :)

We are under a Bad Storm Warning. They say the roads will be a sheet of ice under the snow. And, I am worried sick about my hubby having to be out on them allllll the time.

At least you're getting snow, all we're getting is ice. Ick! I hate these annual ice storms. I'd rather have a foot of snow than this.

Yeah, I'm "snowed in" here, so I'm working from home. We got 3-4 inches (so far), but it was nearly 9 am before they plowed the roads, and even then they did a cruddy job of it. The problem is there's supposed to be more coming and in some places it may be ice on top of it.
People around here are terrible with the snow. I understood it when I was in Texas, but here, come on. Everyone goes tooling in their large pickups and then wonder why there are so many accidents. In CT, we learned driving on/in snow from an early age - it's the ice I freak a little out about, so much harder to control your car on it because there's nothing to grip onto.

We've gotten a few inches over the last two days. I'm guessing it's above 3" at this point because I was woken up this morning at 4:45  by some dude using a snow blower on the sidewalks and our HOA only pays to have that done if the snow has reached their minimum snow requirement. It's definitely a change from the 60 and 70 degree weather we had last week. :D

You stole our snow!! :p

We were supposed to get 4 inches, which meant Jeff would be able to plow.. but no. It all went south or something. LOL

We got snow mixed with nasty ole ice!!! not so much snow as ice! I hate the ice, there's just no vehicle that doesn't slide on ice!!! and it's harder to clean off the car!!! and we're supposed to be getting more!

We've managed to dodge the bullet on the bad stuff, but we could get from 4-7 inches by tomorrow night.
