I have a question about adding blinkies to my siggy.....I add one and it says no more that 500 characters are allowed....what exactally does that mean? Do I need to make them smaller????
 
It counts every single character in the BBCode that you use to add blinkies...so if you want to fit more blinkies, make sure that the urls are small...mine are all at the same place (http://www.breecreative.com/random) and then I renamed them to as short as I could with still remembering who they were for (nkubo.gif, kcb.gif, etc)

Your first blinkie up there is 68 (or more...I lost count close to the end, lmao) characters:

Where one of my blinkies is only 51 (and this is actually the longest named blinkie I have in my siggy):

Thanks Bree, I will give that a shot and see what happens....And yes I have quite a few, I know...I just don't want to leave anyone out ;)
 
i've seen some people combine all blinkies into one and it just blinks through them all . ..
 
what you can also do, Christine..t his is what I did. Copy your photobucket url and go to www.tinyurl.com You can paste your photobucket url in there, and it will give you a smaller, condensed url that you can then use for your blinkies. :)
 
OK Girls.....I have tried to do this about 400 times and I still cannot get it to work. Just to be clear which link am I supposed to copy into the "tiny url" thingy to make it shorter. I think I tried all of the options at photobucket but none of them will work...... PLEASE HELP the dummy here so I can figure this out.
 
take the link that starts with http and ends in .jpeg or .gif ... there should be no <IMG or [IMG and the beginning of the link. You will get a new url that looks like:
http://tinyurl.com/2x8ktq

and then you put THAT url in your siggy with the [*img] [*/img] code

so my above one would look like [*img]http://tinyurl.com/2x8ktq[*img]
(without the astricks of course)
 
Right. What Amber said. :p Put the "direct link" into the spot @ tinyurl, and it'll spit out a new tinier direct link.

I did notice that you have a SSD blinkie for Laura D., who isn't here anymore. If you wanted to take the really easy route, you could just get rid of that one. I'm really lazy, so that's what I'd probably do. LOL!

I don't know why I did not know that...I did delete it but I have also shrunk all of my URL's anyway...now I have a lot of space.
 
my other "siggy trick" is that I keep a text document w/ all my photobucket blinkie links as well as the corresponding tiny url link so I can copy & paste mt siggy to the different boards. I used to have each blinkie linked if was is allowed (like at DST) but I stopped it was too confusing to look at all the code LOL.

2nd tip - if your CT changes blinkies then upload the new blinkie with the same name like Dani_CTBlinkie and the new one will replace the old one in your photobucket and you won't have to swap out links OR change your tinyurl :)
 
obviously I need to update my siggy LOL Amy's blinkie is old and Traci Sims is being removed for a new team blinkie. I am just waiting to do it all at once :D
