Shutterfly Share, anyone??

Have you seen Shutterfly's Share Site? I was thinking about setting one up for my family so we can share images and notes quickly....Kind of like a family blog but with Shutterfly attached for easy photo swapping. Anyone have a share site? Do you like it?

I got an email about it but haven't had a chance to check it out. It would be awesome for my family b/c they never ever ever look at my blog... If someone has tried it, I'd love to hear about it!

Me, my mom, my little sister who is away at college, and my SIL all use the share site. We started it right after we all got back from Vegas so we could share photos. It's ok. I don't have anything to compare it to so...
We have it set to private and you have to have a pwd to view otherwise I would share.

I use it for my son's baseball team. I've been very pleased with how easy it is to set up and share. I like it so much better than trying to share an album after I uploaded it.

ummm, Rachel, right? with the ultrasound pics and the cute shutterfly share. Your pics are so cute and I love your little note about the cutie pie anxiously awaiting her new little bug. :)

I think it looks like a great idea. I do have some questions. Can I password protect it but share my pw with like 300 people who CAN'T post but can only read? So that it's like a blog, I can type aobut our day without having to figure out how a blog works, all of our friends in the states can view it but anyone monitoring my computer in the country where I live CAN'T view it?

My sister's in-laws started one for baby Abigail and it's really convenient and pretty! The only complaint I have is that you still can't download the hies files, drives me bonkers. I think I'll need to give in to Flickr for that. :)

Teresa, thanks for letting me know. I want a place to DL high res.

My family and I use www.fotki.com. We pay like $30/year to use it, but we seriously LOVE it and just paid for years 3-6, lol. It was easy to use for my family that didn't know alot about computers, and we all just upload all our photos/layouts to the one account (we just share the username/password) and can download the hies files from there.

We started it because we do family vacations every year and there are literally THOUSANDS of photos - so it was the easiest way to get ahold of the photos we wanted.

Now we have pictures up for all sorts of stuff, and each "family" within our family (ie, each of my sisters' families, my parents, and my brother) each have a folder to just upload random photos to.

Oh, and also...forgot to mention this because I haven't used the feature yet...Fotki has some pretty good prices for printing as well. They do all sorts of sizes, including 8x8 and 12x12, but the services are only available to Premium (ie paying) members. :) I need to try them out soon, I just never think of it.

ETA their prices: 9 cents for 4x6, $1.90 for 8x8, $3.90 for 12x12...there are TONS of other sizes as well.

Great idea! I already have an account, I can easily upload there. I'm using Kodak and they don't have anything like this. That's really neat you can add descriptions and stuff.
