Shutterfly Question

Just a quick question...how do you all edit/size your double page LOs when using Shutterfly? I am afraid that things will be cut off from the center. I have actions that prep my 12 x 12 LOs but have no clue what to do for the 12" x24". Any suggestions would be appreciated:)
 
I just crop my pages in half and submit each one as a separate 12 x 12. I make sure that I don't have anything important at that 12" mark like someone's face or text.
 
I always do my 2 pagers as "seperate" 12x12 pages then I can upload them and know that nothing is cutoff...when I use to actually make and save them as 24x12, it never worked for me when I "Split" them and tried to save and upload. SO other than that, I don't know of an easier way to do it...

Lindsay,

When you get your book do the pages flow without cutting anything off? The reason I ask is because Shutterfly gives specific guidelines for the bleed and stuff on 12"x12" so I figured there would be problems with the larger LOs.

Just wondering how that works with doubles. Thank you for answering back;)

I figured this was probably what I was going to have to start doing. My DH gave me a 12"x12" Shutterfly book for Mother's Day and it is my first ever. So I might just hold those double pagers i already have back and print them looseleaf.

This may be a dumb question but how do you split the double page template in to two LOs before scrapping it? Do you just open two copies of the template and delete half on each?
 
Are you doing a photo book or printed pages? I'm doing my first photobook now, so I can't help you with that. When I'm printing the layouts separately, I try to make sure only papers and unimportant elements are in the 1/4 inch closest to the margin and crossing it. You probably don't even need to be that conservative about it, but I'd rather leave some extra space than be disappointed.

You just open and crop, then make sure to hit save as and repeat for the 2nd half.

Rather than splitting them before I scrap, I prefer to use a guideline down the middle so I know where they'll be split as I scrap.

I actually open a new 12x12 blank page and move basically the right side of the template on to it's own LO and save and then do the same for the left side LOL! I use to think it was alot of work but it really isn't. I agree to maybe save your 2 pagers until after you get a book printed adn then can really see how your lo's print and compare them to the originals on your screen. Somebody here metioned to start saving your LO's as 12.25 x 12.25 so that it already gives you that extra 1/4 inch, so I have been doing that lately, but havne't printed them yet...
