Should I Be Worried?

DH totally passed out tonight, and although I'm glad I was able to sort of catch him, it FREAKED ME OUT! He is fine now, joking around and chatting on the phone, but he has a temperature of 101. He thinks it was because he fell asleep on the couch and then stood up really fast. He was out cold for four seconds. I was slapping his cheek and yelling in his face and my daughters were just standing there watching this unfold. It felt like the LONGEST four seconds of my life so far. He is refusing me to take him to ER or Urgent Care. Men. :cursing:
 
Mark did that once too - although he wasn't lucky enough for me to catch him - same thing...he was napping on the couch and got up really fast and then passed out (no fever though). I'd just keep an eye on him...sending some good thoughts your way that it isn't anything more serious.
 
That is scary!! Keep a close eye on him and maybe try to convince him to see his doctor tomorrow if he doesn't want to go to the ER.
 
Mandy, he's probably fine, but I would make him go to the dr. for a check-up. My dad had a similar experience last year and after a week of tests, the doctors couldn't find anything wrong. Better safe than sorry. Keeping you all in my thoughts!
 
I'd be more worried about the fever. Keep a check on that and if it doesn't go away within 24 hours and especially if he has another "pass out", you need to convince him to go to the Dr ASAP.
 
He is probably ok, but I would also make him see the Dr. just to be sure. My husband had an incident like that and it turned out to be a seizure (he'd never had one before and it wasn't jerky or anything...just like he passed out). He's fine, just on some meds, but it was good we found out before it got worse.

Better safe than sorry, kwim?
 
Thanks for all the advice, ladies. Super appreciated! His fever has broken now, thank goodness. I'm for sure watching him for anything out of the ordinary. If anything else happens, I'm dragging his butt down to the doctor!!
 
Yikes, I'm sorry that happened! I know it would freak me the heck out if I saw my manyly man of a hubby pass out. EEEK! Makes me feel really vulnerable just thinking about it.

So glad he's feeling better and hope it doesn't happen again.
 
Scary! Maybe he was a little dehydrated with the fever and all. I know men can be so stubborn about their health.

DH last summer started having little nagging chest pains...he called them pinches..anyway I finally got him to the doctor and they found out he had an inactive thyroid. He kept telling me all the time it was nothing but it turns out it was something. Hope he's feeling better!
 
How scary would that be to see??? I definately would talk him into seeing a doctor just in case. probably is nothing but with the fever, I'd say it's something for those two things to happen at the same time. could be a bug he's coming down with.
 
Watching someone pass out is by far one of the scariest things...my DW did it once when she was pregnant..we were at the mall and she just dropped...her head hit the cement floor...I am getting nervous just typing this. Worst part, apparently, when my DW passes out, her eyes stay open. Yeah, that was crazy (wish she would have told me before, lol)
