She's back!

Oh no...do I really want to look. I LOOVED/LOVE Rainbow bright! Change isn't bad for some things...but something should be left alone.
 
Does anyone watch The Soup? This is all I think of when I hear Rainbow Brite:

YIKES, the new Rainbow Brite looks too mature. I always loved the cute kiddie look of Rainbow Brite. Cabbage Patch Kids, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony and Care Bears didn't change so why does she have to get a makeover anyway???

That just makes me sad. They took away all her cute, child-like charm. She looks way older now. :thumbdown:
 
Well, Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake did change from their original versions, but at least they were good changes!
 
i like the new rainbow brites outfit better, not necessarily the overall new look. what am i gonna do now with my vintage cup and plate set...it won't match.

I'd rather have your vintage cup & plate then anything with this new clown whore (from the mouth of Annie) adorned on it, so you can call what you have the REAL Rainbow Brite!
 
This is all just a little bit too weird for me...
for Christmas my daughter got (from far-off relatives)

a cabbage patch doll
Strawberry shortcake dolls
my little ponies
and she's beginning to love watching old episodes of fraggle rock!!

It's like the 80's never ended!! Are there no new ideas out there that they have to go and muck with the old ones?

I agree, while Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake just kind of updated, they didn't get older....just "newer". Rainbow Brite just looks too old now, not like a little girlie. It'll take some getting used to!
 
They change all of them when they get their updates. Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears.

I'm happy their bringing her back.

I saw a PJ Sparkles doll at Toys R US the other day, I was surprised they brought her back.
 
I'm on the fence with this one. On one hand I think she's kind of cute. On the other hand, I don't like that she looks 15 not 5, and they made her super skinny.

Like Melissa said... they sexed her up too much.
 
I don't like her new look. She borders on trampy looking glam girl, though not nearly as bad as those horrid horrid awful disgusting Bratz. Look at the new face compared with the sweet old face. A much different vibe - sweet and cute versus edgy and modern. Totally unnecessary. :confused::confused:

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Why do little girls' toys need to look sexy and/or sassy?
 
I complained to McDonald's once because my 4 year old received an obnoxious My Scene tramp Barbie whore in her happy meal, and I actually received a personal response back from the corporate people. I might try the same thing with this doll. She's icky.
