Shadows

Not sure what program you are using. I'm using PSE so I can't save actions (I can import but not create/save). I downloaded one set of shadows, tweaked them some and then make a file that I open every time I scrap. it's essentially a scrapbook page with lots of bits and baubles on them that are shadowed. When I want to shadow something I 'copy' the style from the 'Shadow' page and apply it to something on my new LO.

The warping techniques are really awesome, but most times, I don't have enough time to put all that together.

I looked at your tuts sheri! but I still feel like I'm not that great. i guess I'll just have to play around with it. I tried searching but couldn't find any shadow styles in the store. are there any that I'm missing?

Here are Jenn's styles:

I have Jenn's styles. They are awesome! I currently use a set from another store. I also will tweak shadows on ribbons, strings, or flowers by creating a layer and smudging the shadow layer to make it irregular. I will also duplicate the shadow layer but just a feathered circle part under a button with a bow. I just read a lot of tutorials and try things to see how they work out.

I have no idea if my shadows are "good" or "bad" but in the end all I care about is whether or not I like my page, including the shadows. To be honest I don't do shadows the same every time. I basically look at my page as if it were a paper page and try to make the shadows look "real." I also think shadowing to some extent is personal preference - for example, I really dislike "floating" elements or papers, they don't like realistic to me, but I see layouts like this all the time that are gorgeous layouts, but I just prefer my papers to be more realistic - a paper layout isn't going to have a paper mat with a deep shadow unless it's been pop dotted, kwim? In my clusters I just shadow to make it look "real" - bigger, bulkier flowers get heavier shadows, smaller more delicate flowers less, etc.

I also am not sure what others think of my shadows but I got to the point where I love them and that is what counts for me.

Awhile back Heather Greenwood suggested, where I PMed her for help lol, that I take a digi shadow class, which truly helped me tremendously. <3

I exclusively use Jenn's shadow styles. Quick, easy, and I think they look pretty good. lol. Now I'm wondering if I need to mess around with my shadows more.
