Scrapping out of my comfort zone

I am usually a one-kit scrapper. It's been my style for years. However, this year's Summer Scrap-a-thon has inspired me to branch out. I have done a few layouts with more than one kit. It's been fun mixing and matching for a page. I love doing challenges that expand my creativity.

I love mixing kits together, but I agree, it can be a real challenge to find out what works together and what doesn't.

I guess I'm the odd one out that I love love love mixing kits. Like, it's a problem and I am honestly shocked that no one has staged an intervention yet. It's always nice to see other people reaching out of their comfort zones to play. Come to the dark side; we have scatters!

I HATE having to think hard when I scrapbook. I need it to be as easy as possible: one kit, one template. In fact, it's one thing I miss about being on creative teams: now I have to decide which kit AND which template to use, and sometimes just adding one more decision to the process is enough to make me choose Sudoku over scrapping!

I like scrapping with one kit, but I also enjoy mixing kits. I love using multiple kits from the same designer. I get the same design style, but I'm able to expand my stash by mixing kits.

I love all the challenges! Some of my favourite pages come from are from challenges I have groaned at because I thought they were too difficult or out of my comfort zone!

I love scrapping just one kit, but when I need some theme elements, I can mix different kits.

That's awesome! It's wonderful to grow and try new things! I also tend to use one kit but have been inspired to mix kits and it's lots of fun! It opens up so many possibilities!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm basically a one-kit scrapper, too. (The really weird thing is that when I paper scrapped, I had NO problem using all sorts of manufacturers when creating a layout. lol) I'm trying to branch out on a regular basis, but I have to rely on my memory to do that. lol

I'm another one that is a one kit scrapper. However, I will use items from multiple kits from the same designer. Just finished a layout the other day that used 3 different 50 States kits. It was a South Dakota layout but the Montana kit worked better for it but I also used items from the South Dakota kit and the Colorado kit.

The only time I use multiple designers are collabs.

For CT work, I stick to one kit, but I do love mixing different kits! It usually happens the most for trip layouts, especially Disney layouts!

It's always fun to try something new! Glad to have you joining the challenges this month!
