Scrap the page anyways...

I am currently finishing up our 1st Disney Cruise album before we take our 2nd Disney Cruise later this spring. We went on this cruise with my husband's cousin and his family, whom we are close to! While looking at photos that still need to be scrapped, I found some of his cousins family, without the rest of us (we all shared photos after the trip). I wasn't really going to scrap these photos, since none of my girls or me or my husband was in the photos. I figured we had other photos where it was all of us together, I would just use those.

Last week, we found out my husband's cousin passed away, leaving behind his wife and 2 young kids.

My advice, scrap the photos! Even if it's a family member you don't know well, or someone you do. Scrap those photos, because you never know when they may be gone and those are some of the last memories you have of them!

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Such wise words to share. Indeed, scrap the photos. Is it possible to scrap them now and share your creations with family members?

Yes! I am still working on the album, so I grabbed some photos of just their family and am going to do a page of just them! That also started me going through photos to put together ones of him, so that each of the girls and us could have our own photos to remember him by.

They will surely treasure the layouts you are creating for them. (and another reason we all love digi-scrapping so very much!)

Oh, I'm sorry about this sad news. Yes, great advice! I have sometimes waited too long to scrap something, and by the time I get around to it, circumstances or relationships have changed so much that I no longer know how to even approach it, especially the journaling!

I feel this relates to photos of ourselves too. Too often I don't include a photo of me on my pages because it's not the most complimentary. My kids don't care though - they just want to see us in their albums. You're so right about just capturing the moment and not over thinking it.

Well that is hard learned advice. I'm sorry.

In general, you can always do a simpler basic pocket page beside a fancier page and feature some of the type of photos you talked about.

My condolences on your loss, Dawn. So really good advice in this thread about scrapping all the memories and including yourself. I am trying to get better about that too.
