Scanner opinions anyone?

My EPSON photo scanner has bit the dust! I need opinions for a really good scanner. I want one that will allow me to scan bulky items as well as flat. Any suggestions?
 
I have the Canon Canoscan 8800F... it's amazing!!!! Canon has a newer replacement model for it, but I don't know what the model number is, sorry!
 
I think the new one is the 5600. I have the 8800F too- and the only difference between the two is that the 8800F comes with PS elements and some other software stuff that I didn't need. I think the 5600 is cheaper too! (My 8800F was about $250)
