Would you modge podge the outside of a cd album or not? And if you would, which would you use-- glossy or matte? Do you think it is really necessary to do it?

No, I never seal with mod podge.... I'd rather use a spray sealant.... but I rarely seal my projects anyways. If you do use MP, pick matte.

I don't know what spray sealant to use, but I do know that if you try to seal with modge podge, you always end up with those streaks in some shape or form.

Yes ^what he said! don't use modge podge as a sealer; i tried it once and it almost ruined my chipboard book i was making. I just went to Wal Mart and found a spray sealer-Plaid brand i think it was in the craft section.

I have used matte modge podge and I just put a very thin coat on it. I covered a composition book so I used the modge podge to put the cover on it, but you have to let that completely dry first!! I just went ahead and put a light coat on top of the cover immediately after that and it bubbled up quite a bit. I was happy to see that after a while I was able to smooth them out and now I cant even see the bubbles. I actually liked the look of the "streaks"- mine dried clear and it sort of gave it texture. Hope this helps!

Mine is some generic brand... look for Plaid or Krylon sprays (check that they're okay to use on paper projects)... I always pick Matte. I found my spray at the craft store locked up with the spray paint. Make sure to follow the directions and spray thin, even coats. If you need a thick seal then build it up gradually.

I really hate using MP as a sealant b/c of the streaking... drives me nuts! But some people take wet sand paper and smooth out the streaks. Personally, I'm too scared to do that. Besides, spray is much faster.
